3227.0. "STREAMS or not to STREAMS" by STAR::TCARR () Tue Apr 22 1997 11:18
Hi,
In note #3167 I explained the NT network information that I need to
be able to get to port a client to NT. It is a low level SNAP or
IEEE 802.3 protocol that we are using. It was suggested that a STREAMS
driver was in order. However, the DDK says that MS will not enhance or
support further work on NT streams and recommends a TDI driver instead
of STREAMS. Does this imply that through TDI I can setup a Service
Access point(i.e. TdiBuildAssociateAddress) for my protocol ID and get
the same broadcast packets that I would for a streams driver?
Thanks,
Tom
(p.s. the DDK states the above in the KBase. Just search KBase for
streams)
