2255.0. "Translator ASCII to PCL (HPGL) file ?" by PADKOA::COSTEUX (Le Plat Pays qui est le mien...) Thu Mar 20 1997 10:40

A customer asks the following question: how can we translate ASCII type
text files to PCL type files ? I've not found the right answer so any
    help would be gratly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance for help.

Please mention what you really want to do.
I imagine the final goal is not to translate an ASCII file to a PCL
file for the pleasure to have a PCL file. Your real goal is likely to
take a file which was produced by an application and printing to a
printer which which has PCL only.

So, please mention what the printer is, what kind of system you have,
    and so on.

We have a Convert box, attached to PCL printer, like a DEClaser
3500 or an LN17, which translates LN03+ or PPL3 files into PCL-5 files.
This convert box must be attached to the parallel port of a printer.
