Hello,

I will be vising Crete shortly for the second time. I was there in 1987, and
very much enjoyed it.

My highlights last time were the museum at Iraklion, (I think it was called the
National Museum). I didn't have enough time in there to fully appreciate it, but
found the statuary and linear B exhibits fascinating. Knossos and Faistos were
memorable, and I will no doubt return.

The Samaria Canyon was fun, but overrated in my opinion, I have vivid memories
of huge rats at the hotel room at the end of the canyon (Agia Roumani)

Does anyone have any addresses/phone numbers of country taverns, in picturesque
and possibly remote locations. I will be travelling around Crete, and would like
a day or two at each stop.

My particular interests are architecture, history, hiking and mountain biking.
The more I can combine these the better, any hints would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance for any info, Neil.
