| You mean the turbocharger. The new Indy car engines have a deeper
sound for two reasons: (1) no turbocharger muffling some of the
noise; (2) they run at lower revs. Personally, I think this is an
improvement. There's something thrilling at a visceral level about
the roar of a big, normally-aspirated V8 engine.

| When I first read the title of this note, I thought it was in reference to
Bob Varsha and Danny Sullivan being the commentators for the 97 season.

| I never minded Paul Page, but so far I think Tom Sneva is a
refreshing improvement over Bobby Unser. Varsha and Sullivan ought
to make a pretty good team.
If Varsha's doing CART broadcasts, who's doing F1 this year for ESPN?
