    From the hand outs last weekend:
    
    	"Plans for Mid Atlantic Race Complex in Calverton, Long Island are
    proceeding forward.  However, we are waiting for a "yes" answer from
    the Calverton Redevelopment Commission and the Riverhead Town Board to
    allow a race circuit at the former Navy-Grumman property.  A favorable
    reply from these people by early this fall could allow Project
    Calverton, Inc. enough time to create a world class race circuit for
    club events by 1996.  The Commission and the Town Board are carefully
    weighing response from the public.  Presently we are enjoying a good
    deal of support for the project.  That positive message needs to be
    sent to those who will decide the outcome.  If you support racing, may
    we ask that you immediately write to the decision makers below.

    Some track details:
    
    	3 miles, 12 turns
    	built to Indy/NASCAR approved specs
    	nearest home/town is 1.5 miles away
    	will run UNmuffiled, pro and club events
    	

    Have an actual track layout.  If anyone would like a copy, please send
    me your FAX number off line and I'll get it off to you.  Actual course
    config is 3.5 miles, 16 turns for the "pro course"; 2.3 miles and 10
    turns for the "club" course.
    
    Decisions should be made by the town at the end of November (after
    local elections).  The neat part is that NO politician opposes the
    concept of the track.
