Thought the Noters in the mid-states might find it useful and/or interesting Article 55242 of rec.autos.sport: From: [email protected] (Lillard) Newsgroups: rec.autos.sport Subject: New racing radio show in Indianapolis needs guests Date: 10 Apr 1994 14:34:07 -0400 Lines: 45 A new racing radio show in Indianapolis is looking for guests from all forms of motorsport for live interviews. "Kevin O'Neal's Racing Today" starts on Monday, April 18 on WGGR-FM, 106.7, the newest country music station in Indianapolis. Kevin O'Neal, moving into his 14th year as the announcer for the Indianapolis Speedrome and the General Tire Figure-Eight Challenge, will share anchoring duties for the program with Randy Kenyon, broadcaster and race official. The program will air six days a week, Monday-Saturday at 6:00 p.m. The new show will report on every kind of motor racing around Indianapolis and central Indiana. While the Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400 will draw extensive attention in Indianapolis, there are many other motorsports that don't get the publicity they deserve. The participants in those racing series will be covered on the new radio show. The producers are interested in the grass-roots racing that draws enthusiastic participation from hundreds of people, but rarely gets print or broadcast coverage. Quarter-midget drivers, SCCA production racers, weekend drag racers, weekly sprint car competitors, motorcyclists and more will be featured on "Kevin O'Neal's Racing Today," along with major racing events. If you have a racing event or racing team that will run in the Indianapolis area, we welcome you to contact us and arrange an appearance on our program. The large number of programs will allow us to have slots for many guests, and your organization can be on the list. If you're going to race in or around Indianapolis or have a race shop or a race team headquartered in central Indiana, call us for information on how and when you can appear on "Kevin O'Neal's Racing Today." We're also looking for reports on racing events to air on the show. If you stage a race, we want to learn who won and lost so we can put it on the air. Again, we're interested in all racing around Indianapolis and not just a handful of events. Whether it's on a quarter-mile dirt track, a road course or a superspeedway, we want the results for our show. I wonder if On-Sat (a sattelite company) could provide you with that
info, assuming you have a sattelite dish. Since sattelites are common
here, I'll go pick up a catalog for you at the hardware store. I don't
think they cost much if anything. They may give you the sattelite
channels to look for.
I have cable, but my neighbor has a dish, also I don't know how or
what you have access to.

Mike*2 - I'm trying to find the phone number for MRN to call them and see if they have any sw or sat broadcasts. I'm fairly certain they feed their signal to their affiliates via sat, but they all seem to be in the US. Not sure how possible it would be to pick up the feed in the UK.
