115.1 | Will it be sucessful?. | DVOPAS::WADERS::malkoski | | Fri Jan 15 1993 17:44 | 8 |
| I think they look good - sorta a throw back to the open cars of the mid-70s and
the CAN-AM. But it is hard to make any sense of the new regs. All sportcar racing
has suffered from high cost. The governing bodies, especially the FIA, have really
messed up the whole busiess. This is the lowest point in the long and glorious
history of sportscar racing. And it isn't clear to me how the new IMSA regs
address any of the pressing issues.

115.2 | What else besides WSC cars?? | WONDER::BRODEUR | | Wed Oct 13 1993 10:16 | 7 |

So what else will IMSA be running next year besides the WSC cars?
Sounds like both the GTP and Lights cars are history. Does this mean
they will now run the WSC cars along side GTO/GTU? Just curious..

115.3 | WSC looks good | MACNAS::GGARRETT | | Thu Oct 14 1993 04:30 | 8 |
| With Ferrari,Spice,Reynard etc all committed to building WSC cars I
would have thought they were the answer to IMSA's prayers. Even LeMans
will allow them.
Spice are quoted as saying they had sold more cars in the last three
months as they did in the last three years!

115.4 | Ferrari in IMSA 94 | CSC32::P_SHERRY | | Fri Oct 29 1993 18:48 | 7 |
| Noted in Autoweek's latest edition that Ferrari has indeed come up with
entries for WSC (IMSA's version) in'94. They've given it a designation,
and will aslo have a version legal for the FIA/FISA Touring car series
(the series for XJ220's et al). A hpoeful sign; usually the boys at
Marenello just talk about this type of project. Can't imagine it would
be cheaper than a Spice or the like; judging by the proposed powerplant
(3.5 liter v-12) they have found a way to recycle the old F-1 units..
