246.0. "Books wanted" by BUSY::KCOLBURN () Thu Apr 18 1991 04:50

    Hello everyone,

      I build models of F1 cars.Presently I'm working on a Honda Ra273,
which is from Honda's initial foray into the sport in the 60's.What
I'm interested in is anyone knows of any book on the subject, preferably
with lots of pictures.I already have one book called Seven Days in
August, which is all about a week in the racing life of John Surtees.

So if anyone knows of a book on F1 in the 60's please send me mail,
and I'll delete this note after a week or so.

Additionally,if anyone is interested in having a kit built of your
favorite race car,I'm your man.You buy the kit and I'll build it.
I've built over 200 cars, including the latest Ferraris with the DEC
logo on them. There is even a 6 wheel Tyrell kit.

    Thanks!

I've got the completed kit if you want some pictures of that.... I'll look
through some books and see if I can find pictures of that car on the track.

Since you're used to the newer Tamiya kits, the Honda is not quite the same.
Some parts are kind of vague about how they fit in, but look a step or two
ahead and you should get the idea.

246.2Done that one too.BUSY::KCOLBURNSat Apr 20 1991 00:5717
    Hey Dave!

I too have built this car before, but right out of the box.
It's now in the showcase in a Vermont Honda dealer.
Now I've bought another one and want to put everything into
it.The Surtees book had some good pictures of the body, but the
engine area is what I need.I also got some books at the local
library yesterday that have a few pictures, but none I really
    can use.

By all means,I'd love to see a picture of your work.My mail stop
is FXO/01.ANd by the way I've talked with you by mail before.
I'm the guy looking for older Tamiya F1 kits, remember?

    Cheers!

    KC,
I'm here too. My E-mail address is NWD002::MARTINMI
Try that. I've sent my list of books via interoffice (6/14)
and I've recently received a bunch of 1964/65 magazines and
I've been looking for detail photos of the Honda. Will let
you know if I find anything worthwhile.

Don't know if this fits here, but anyway--

Looking for the US address and US $ subscription/1st class mailing
costs for the European weekly "Autosport"? I know it will be steep,
but Christmas only comes once a year and he's worth it.

    Thanks,
