Conference oass::babynames

971.0. "Name for baby Myers" by ASIC::MYERS () Thu Dec 01 1994 13:52

    We're expecting baby #2 in early June (I know it's still early but this
    is the fun stuff) and are looking for boys and girls names.
    
    Our last name is Myers (kind of bland)
    
    Mom:  Susan Debra 
    Dad:  Michael Alan
    Big Sister:  Sarah Olivia
    
    We will not be naming after anyone in the family.  Sarah was named in
    honor of my grandfather (Saul) who was terminally ill when she was
    born, and, thankfully, there's been noone else we need to honor.
    
    We don't want anything too obscure or trendy (names like Ashley or
    Brittany are out), we like traditional spellings and are looking for
    something a little different this time (to offset the 5 million Sarah's
    roaming around 8^) ).
    
    Names we've thought of so far:
    
    Girls		Boys
    -----               ----
    
    Alexandra           Adrian (husband likes this, I'm not sure)
    Alexandrie          Ethan
    (^I like the little difference)
    Courtney
    Justine
    Kimberly
    
    
    As you can see, we don't have much of a list and I'm not sure it even
    meets our above criteria.  We're also pretty stuck on boys names.
    
    If Sarah had been a boy she would have been:
    
    Cameron Russell or Scott Cameron
    
    We'd like to stay away from having both kid's names start with S.
    
    So, put on your thinking caps, I've been through the babynames book so
    many times that I think I tend to skip over things, I need fresh ideas.

    			Declan Myers
    			Christopher Myers
    
    			Amelie Myers
    			Emily Myers
    			Pamela Myers
    			Karen Myers

    Thanks for the list.  I'm not sure about them, nothing seems to jump
    out at me.
    
    There's already a Thomas on my husband's side, Kevin's an
    ex-boyfriend's name (so hubby will definitely pooh pooh that one 8^) ).
    My husband does like Christopher but I'm not crazy about it.
    
    We both had thought of Emily but wonder if it isn't too many M's?

    While thinking about the list in .1 I was looking at Karen.  It doesn't
    do much for me but kind of like the rhythm of it with Myers and then I
    thought of Taryn.
    
    What do you think of Taryn Myers?  What would be a good middle name for 
    that and how does it go with big sister Sarah's name?
