919.0. "a boy's name to go with Hehemann" by UTROP1::HEHEMANN_R () Mon Dec 06 1993 05:22

    Hi ,

My wife is expecting in march, and we are still looking for
    a boy's name.
We want it to be short or at the most two syllables.
    Our familyname is HEHEMANN.
A name which comes from the ELZAS/LOTHARINGEN area , one time French
    and the other time German.
But don't think that i am German, because of the name , i am Dutch.

    Thanks for any suggestions,

Ron, are you saying that you'd like a boy's name that reflects
either your origin or your last name's origin?

There are a ton to choose from here - I always feel a little
silly repeating the same names note after note, if they are
my favourites. Look around a bit - especially the notes that
offer large lists of names. Do you want to use a name in
your family (something not obvious, but there- like a father's
    or grandfather's middle name?)

Do you have any members of the family that speak another language?
(Some really nice english names sound very funny when pronounced
by a german, french or dutch person - trust me!)

Of the german names I can think of, just off the top of my
    head (using my family's names):

    Walter Kurt Heinz Kai
    Heinrich Johann Nikol Uve
    Stefan Gustav Gerhard Jochen
    Martin Arnold Richard Nils
    Markus Sebastian Reinhard Jan
    Ernst Wolfgang Bernd Bruno

    But I think I've mentioned these elsewhere......8-)

    Hi Monica,

Thanks for the names so far, but i only mentioned my last name, and
it's heritage for information reason's only.
We are'nt especially looking for German names as an matters of fact.
If we would get a daughter, Amy will be her name, so as you can also
see English names are also on the list.
We also only want to use one name, and no middele or third names.

Thanks from once again a very rainy Holland.

    HI,

Congratulations! March is just around the corner!!!! (I am expecting
February 27th)! (Still haven't decided on names either)! My husband
and I like James Edward Phelan for a boy - but if we have a girl we
have no idea!!! (yet)... We already have one 16 month old son, he is
    Eric Joseph Phelan.

anyway, for your Boy names, how about,

Eric Hehemann (my favorite!) It does sound GREAT with
    				       your last name!
                        Jake Hehemann
                        Tate Hehemann
    			Shawn Hehemann
    			Nico Hehemann
                        Matthew Hehemann
    			David Hehemann
    		        Dale Hehemann
                        Dane Hehemann

    Hi Christina,

    Congratulations! ,

    What do you think about,

    Laura
    Nicole
    Amy
Brenda (you know from the serie Beverly Hills 90210)
    Renee
    Elizabeth

My wife and i are now thinking about
joeri or the Spanish name Jaime (gaime)

Your favorite name won't be our name
because my brother's name is Eric.

I have three brothers and their name's are Eric, Marc, Maarten.

Greetings from once again a very floody Holland (the rivers are
    growing).

919.6Thanks!MPGS::PHELANTue Dec 28 1993 14:5426
    Hi ROn,

You mention Jaime (Gaime) how is that pronounced? Here we would say
Jaime as in Jay-Me. Joeri is interesting.... Is that pronounced
    Joe-Ri or how? I like it./...

Laura Phelan is a nice name, that one has been placed on our list.
Nicole is very pretty too, though friends of ours have a 10 month old
named Nicole and even though we don't see them to often it might be
odd. BUT, we doo like it and we really aren't that close with them,
so it may not matter. Nicole was one of our choices for our son Eric
if he were a girl! I am still going to consider it for this child, if
    it's is a girl.

I guess maybe just the "perfect" name will pop up, once my husband and
I look into our baby's beautiful face.

Thanks for the input and please keep sending the suggestions as I
    greatly appreciate it!!!!!

I hope your house is not floating away!!!! Have the floods calmed
    down?

    Take Care!!!

    - Christina
919.7My husband loves the name Jaime for a girlMPGS::PHELANTue Dec 28 1993 14:574
Oh wow, isn't that funny that Eric is your brothers name!

Jaime is a very nice choice - you wrote (gaime) how is this pronouced?
Here we would say: "Jay-me" Is it different in Holland?
919.8Let it be the most wonderful year!!UTROP1::HEHEMANN_RTue Jan 04 1994 04:0713
    Hi Christina,

First of al the best wishes for you and your family.
The name JAIME, is a Spanish name and they pronounce it like GAIME
gggaime, and there they use it as a boy's name.
But you can also use the name as in Jaimie.

We probably go for the name Joeri or Raoul, these names our the ones
    popping up everytime.

    Ron
