917.0. "Christmas names" by OZROCK::RODRIGUES (Apparently, I do not have a sense of humour) Fri Oct 29 1993 02:33

Our second is due on the 10th of December and I know that if we call
him/her by a christmassy name then they will probably never forgive
us :-)

...BUT we're the parents so we have first mover advantages :-)

Given that, what are the sorts of christmas names that one can
use these days...any ideas, some of the ones I can think of are...

Girl Boy
---------------------------
Holly Christian
Christine	Noel	(not my favourite)
		Nicholas

I think my favourites at the moment are:

Girl:	Holly Erin Rodrigues
Boy:	Maximillian St.John Rodrigues (not very christmassy, I know)

PS. It would need to fit in with....

	Karl Anthony Rodrigues (Me!)
	Patrice Margaret Rodrigues	(my wife)
	Rosemary Ceilidh Rodrigues	(our first)
		   \
		    \-- pronounced Kay-Lee

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Karl

A female member of my family has the middle name
    "Noella".

The "Christ" can be found in a variety of names:

    Christianne/Christiana Christian
    Krista/Christa Kristoph/Christoph
    Christine Christopher

And these are only the traditional versions - I am sure with all
the creative spelling going on, one can get a few more.

    for "Nick"

    Nicola Nicholas
    Nicole Nikol
                  Niklas

Again, spelling variants will add a lot to this list.

My friend is called Angela because she was a Christmas angel!

Also, Boxing Day is St. Stephen's day, isn't it? (26th December)

There was a girl at my school called Mary Christmas!

    Hi Karl,

I like Holly Erin and Holly Christine for a girl's name. Have you
considered Emmanuel for a boy's name? It is Christmasy without
    being too obvious.
