This may sound ridiculous, but I figured, it probably is the right note to enter this in. My friend and I are trying to come up with an idea for a television episode. We also want to write the pilot. Problem is NAMES!!! The show is about this woman who has a Phd but something (we haven't determined yet) is going to happen, and she loses her job. Anyway, she has no choice but to run the family bar/pub. She will be Irish. Her grandfather named the Pub after her grandmother. (which we have not established a name for that either) We wanted the woman to have like a kind of funny/wierd name, and that she will have a kind of tough nickname. We were thinking of something like the nickname "Marty" maybe coming from Martha or Martina. But those aren't real "strange" names. We wanted something wierd (which I hope noone out there takes offense, but like my grandmother Matilda, and Gretchen. Etc. We have to also name a teenage girl, her husband, sisters, brothers, remember the bar, so any suggestions is welcomed. Thanks, Karen

>>> Monica........Moe I'll have you know that the accepted nickname for Monica is Moni. Re basenote: This sounds a lot like "Love&War" Where a wellknown chef runs a little restaurant - her nickname is "Wally". (of course, that was last season. now since the actress playing Wally left, there's some other senario taking place. but thats neither here nor there). Wilhelmine? Alvina? - Monica

(susan dey) Now a fiesty cute tough girl (played by Annie Potts)is the cook at the bar/restaurant - she has a different name too, but I can't think of it. How 'bout the name Vivian - calling her Viv. Or Oliva and Livi Good luck - Christina
