903.0. "Julianna" by FMAJOR::WALTER (used to be Aquilia) Tue Aug 31 1993 12:10

Need ideas and thoughts on Julianna. My husband came up with this name
because his grandmother's name is Anna and we met in July. I thought
it was kinda neat but can't think of a middlename. I also worry about
them being called Juliann without the "a" at the end or just plain
    Julie.

He said Julianna Jeanne Walter sounded nice but isn't that too many
    J's?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,

Is Demerice out of the running (earlier note)?

    How about Julianna Demerice Walter?

I have friends with a four-year-old named Julianna (which they
pronounce Ah-na rather than Anna). I think it came from two
grandmothers' names. I think everyone always calls her the whole
thing, which is interesting since her older siblings have always gone
by their short nicknames (Kate, Alex, Jim).

-1 Demerice is not out yet, but Keith is pretty stern about his dislike
for the name Demi, which he is positive would be used later on in life.

-2 That is exactely the way that we would want to pronounce this name
    too!

FWIW, I created this note because its a different name and when I look
for name I do a dir/title= so I thought anyone else interested would be
    able to find it.

    Still looking ...

cj,

I think that Julianna is a very pretty name, and is especially nice in the
context of your situation (I'm sure a future daughter would really love
hearing about how her name was derived).

I wouldn't worry so much about it being changed to Julian(n), although Juli(e)
is a definite possibility -- there are always *some* people who will try to
shorten no matter what name you pick! You'll just have to correct people on
occasion, but that's no big deal really. Actually, you could come up with some
really NICE nic-names from that, if you ever wanted to...

Isn't Julianna Phillips the actress ("Sisters" tv show) and ex-wife of Bruce
Springsteen? I think she is also a former model - this is just for the sake
of trivia... But that's the only "connotation" I come up with when hearing the
name (other than it is feminine-sounding and melodic = "pretty").

Best of luck,
-Cori

There is also a singer named Julianna Hatfield.

I think Bruce Springsteen's ex-wife is named Julianne Phillips.

Anyway, in regard to the basenoter's question, I think Julianna is a
pretty name, but I do not think it goes with the middle-name, Jeanne.
I think it's too many J's, and don't like the way it sounds.
