871.0. "Somethinomething Atkinson ????" by GVA05A::ATKINSON (Just the facts kid) Tue May 11 1993 16:58

    Hello,

My wife and I are expecting our second baby at the end of September.
Our first one is named Emily Kate and I must admit this forum was very
helpful in the choosing of that name.

Having such success, we are back ......

We are having some troubles agreeing on ..... ANYTHING !!!! boys,
girls, first names second names , etc. etc. etc. I hope that our second
child has married parents at the time of it's birth :-)

We have agreed that we want an english sounding name tha goes with ours
    as well as our daugthers.

Any and all suggestions for both girls and boys names are more than
welcome. A small detail ... I would like the boy to have a middlename
    of George (after my father).

    Thank you and regards,
    Alan George Atkinson
    Jannine Isobelle Atkinson
    Emily Kate Atkinson (18 months)

Atkinson (and with Emily Kate):

Boys: Girls:

	Eric George Jocelyn Renee
	Evan George Lindsay Rose
	Peter George Tamara Suzanne
	Stephen George Elise Jenna
	Henry George Sarah Brette

	Michael George Leslie Ellen
	Garrett George Michelle Kara
	David George Carley Robin
	Wesley George Gayle Marie

Good luck narrowing the field,

    Cori,

    	Thanks for yoour reply.

I have 2 cousins named David, Wesley who are brothers and are ATKINSON
    !!!

I have another cousin named Eric.

    We like Evan and Nathan.

I have always like Carley, with my wife liking the more formal
Charlotte. We both like Ellen but didn't want to use it as it is to
close to Alan. However we never thought of it as a second name. We now
are considering it as a second name - thanks.

Some namess my wife likes for boys are Thomas George & Andrew George &
James George (but not keen with George). I like Davis George.

    Please keep the suggestions coming,
    A,J & E

    Alan,

How about Christopher George. We named my 6 month old
Christopher, his middle name is Jeffrey after my husband.
I think it sounds nice, Christopher George Atkinson.

You also might want to put your name as the middle name.
Christopher Alan Atkinson also sounds nice.

Good luck. I found this the toughest part of all....name
    picking.

The old English name for Christopher is Kester, if you want to be
    different.

My wife and I are kinda/maybe depending on the day/time in agreement
sometimes. I think that pretty well sums up our discussions on names
    :-)

We both like James George Atkinson. Actually it is the only name we
    have agreed upon.

The girls name is much harder, which is funny because with our first we
both agreed immediately onthe girls name and couldn't even find a boys
name we both like. Good thing we had a daughter.

Any other suggestions would be much appreciated,
    Alan, Jannine & Emily

After a few "chats" on the topic of baby names my wife and I came up
with a few and would like your thoughts:

    Aiden George
    Evan George
    Alec George
    James George
    Thomas George

    Lauren Isobelle
    Charlotte Isobelle
    Carley Ellen
    Megan ......

    thoughts/comments/suggestions are welcomed,
    Alan, Jannine & Emily Atkinson

871.7Evan or Carley (or...)AMCUCS::MEHRINGTue Aug 03 1993 18:4617
Alan,

So, any consensus yet? Of your choices, I think Evan George is my favorite
for boys, with Thomas George in second place. For girls, I kind of like
Carley Megan a bit better than Carley Ellen and the combo of Lauren Charlotte
(just because Isobelle is so many syllables and letters with a long last name
like yours).

So, I would "vote" for one of these:

Evan George Atkinson OR	Carley Megan Atkinson
Thomas George Atkinson Lauren Charlotte Atkinson
						...Megan Isobelle Atkinson?

Best of luck as the big date approaches next month!

871.8Time is ticking awayGVA05::ATKINSONJust the facts kidWed Sep 08 1993 18:2721
Well ...... the big day is less than .... 16 days to be exact. Jannine
and I still do not know whether it is a boy or a girl, so we are
    getting pretty excited.

We have pretty well narrowed the names down to:

Aidan George Atkinson OR Lauren Isobelle (nope not a typo)

We think that both of these names go well with our daughter's name of
    Emily Kate.

What does this elite forum think? Any other thoughts/comments,
    everything accepted and considered.

Will keep you posted and will look for any additonal replies.

    thanks,
    Alan & Jannine & Emily

    Hi,
I really like both names. I only knew one man named Aiden and he
was kind, gentle, smart and really a nice overall person. I have
liked the name ever since. Lauren Isobelle is pretty, feminine,
and unique. I think you got 2 winners!

871.10Getting close!AMCUCS::MEHRINGThu Sep 09 1993 20:3410
    Alan,

I also like both names, although Aidan does seem awfully close to Alan
(IMHO)... I assume you've already considered and dismissed this, but
just in case, I thought I'd point it out. Not that it's bad to be
close, just may cause a little confusion down the road, etc.

Best of luck as the BIG day approaches!

871.11thanks for your commentsGVA05::ATKINSONJust the facts kidSat Sep 11 1993 19:008
We thought that Alan was a short "A" name vs Aidan being a long "A"
name, thus making enough of a difference.

Thank you for the being our "sounding boards", we're happy to have
    received positive responses.

    Will keep you posted,
    Alan, Jannine & Emily
