844.0. "Girls names for Plourde" by IYQ2::PLOURDE () Thu Dec 17 1992 09:59

My husband and I are expecting our first child in late April.
We didn't realize how terribly hard and confusing it would be
to come up with names. We really don't have a problem with
boys names for some reason, but are REALLY stuck with coming
up with girls names that we both like.

The name needs to go with Plourde (our last name). My husband's
name is Ron and mine is Julie. We are looking for a name with
more than on syllable (for the first name). Middle name can be
1 or 2 syllables...whatever flows best. Here are some of the
names we have been tossing around...let me know what you think
and if you have any additional ideas (nothing too bizzare please).
We really need some help here.

    Cori Lynn or Cori Nicole
    Lauren Michelle or Lauren Renee

I really like the name Kelley (a best friend from school days) and
my husband likes Monica, but I'm not sure what I like for middle names
that go well with either of them (Kelley or Monica). These might be
possibilities for middle names as well. The ones listed above are the
ONLY ones we really both can agree on, but would like to get some
    additional ideas.

Ideas are welcome and NEEDED!! o o

If you like Monica, how about Monica Lauren Plourde or Monica Cori
Plourde. Of these two, I think Monica Lauren sounds the best. There
are a lot of Lauren's around, but I think it would be great for a
    middle name.

844.2for baby girl Plourde...AMCUCS::MEHRINGThu Dec 17 1992 18:1826
Julie,

Here are a few combinations for you to consider:

Monica Lauren
Monica Lynn
Monica Corinne
Kelley Corinne ("K.C.")
Cori Lynne
Cori Michelle

A few new ideas:

Lindsay Nicole
Lindsay Michelle
Nicolette Renee
Casey Lynne
Dana Michelle

You never said what your boy choice(s) were? Just curious...

Best of luck,
-Cori(nne Marie)
p.s. I pronounce it cor-in' not cor-een' or cor'-in and have generally
liked my name except for occasionally being mistaken for a boy (Corey
is gaining in popularity again for boys...)!
844.3I like Monica LaurenIYQ2::PLOURDEFri Dec 18 1992 08:5428
    Chris & Cori,

Thanks for the suggestions! Monica Lauren sounds nice... it didn't
strike me until I saw it together and said it a few times. I know my
hubby will be pleased. Monica Lynn is nice too... Must be those M.L.
names. I will see how my husband feels about these names.

    Re: note .2

My husband and I have chosen Mitchell for the first name if it's a boy...
we have liked that name for a long time and think it sounds nice with
Plourde (at least we think so). We're still 'discussing' the middle name...
maybe you can give me your opinion(s):

Mitchell Logan Plourde (hubby likes this, I'm not sold yet)
Mitchell Dean Plourde (I like this one better, he likes it too)

What do you think? Any other ideas for middle names that sound nice
with Mitchell? I had originally picked out a lot of "J" names for
the middle name (Justin, Jordon, Jay, etc), but 'daddy' wasn't too
    keen on them.

Again, I appreciate the ideas! At least we seem to be narrowing the
choices down for girls names... ya never know, with the baby not due
until April, I'll probably change my mind 50 times (I hope not)!

844.4M.D.P. or M.L.P.AMCUCS::MEHRINGFri Dec 18 1992 13:1413
Julie,

Mitchell, Logan, and Dean are three of my favorite names, so I had to
laugh when you listed your top two contenders! If I had to pick one, it
would probably be Mitchell Dean, just because I typically don't care for
2 names together where the first one ends with the same letter (or sound)
as the second one begins with - the two 'L's in this case. Just my opinion.

And I agree, Monica Lauren sounds very pretty together and good with your
last name. Still, it's fun to think of all the possibilities, right?

Best of luck narrowing it down,
-Cori

Thanks Cori! I think Mitchell Dean Plourde is going to be it if it's
a boy. Funny, I don't have many second thoughts about the boys name,
but every time I find a girl name that I "think" I like, I have second
thoughts. I really want to find something that feels as good as
Mitchell Dean does. We'll see how Monica grows on me...it's not my
favorite, but my husband likes it and that's half the battle!

I agree with you on Mitchell ending with and "L" and Logan starting
with one... it is not as crisp as Mitchell Dean (lots of different
    letters).

    Have a nice weekend!

844.6It was a Boy!!! Mitchell Dean40206::PLOURDETue Oct 04 1994 12:2319
Well - it's been a LONG time ... but I forgot to let you know
that I had a boy, and I did stick with the original name!!!

    		Mitchell Dean Plourde
Born April 25, 1993 (now 17 months old)
    		7 lbs 3 oz, 20 inches
    		  fortunately a fairly easy labor.

And everyone compliments us on the name we chose. Maybe they're
just being nice - but I don't care, cause I like it and it
fits him well (we call him the "Mitch Man")

Thanks for all the suggestions and input back in Dec '92!
Not starting to think about #2 yet - but when we do, we'll be
back to look for names (hopefully a girl...)

    Happy baby naming!

    Julie
