807.0. "Source of Irish names" by MSBCS::E_CARROLL () Thu Jul 16 1992 09:22
We won't know for sure for a couple more weeks if it's a boy or girl, but my husband wants
very much to honor his Irish heritage by having the baby's first name be of Irish origin.
Given the many baby name books I've seen, there's got to be one of Irish names...has anyone
seen one or know where I could find one?
Thanks for the help,
Elaine
p.s. I like Timothy, but it's of Greek origin according to the book I've got. If anyone's got
different information, I'd love to hear it....it'd strengthen my case with my husband who likes
Brendan.

807.2 | There is a book on non-typical Irish names | SOTT::NAULT | | Mon Aug 03 1992 13:23 | 19 |
| There is a book on Irish baby names out there - my sister-in-law has
one! I think it is called something like "Beyond <typical Irish girl's
name> and <typical Irish boy's name>.
I know some of the names she has been thinking of are:
Girls:
Flannery
Shayla (not sure of the spelling on this one)
Boys:
Conner
Padrick
Liam
Next time I talk with her, I'll try to remember to ask her for the name
of the book and where she bought it.
