| Hi Kim,
I guess the first thing I'd ask is how is Declan pronounced - I've
never heard of it.
Since the first and last names are so long, I'd go with a short middle
name:
Matthias Andrew Konyenbelt
Matthias David Konyenbelt
Andreas George Konyenbelt
Andreas Michael Konyenbelt
Chris
PS Are they looking for French names?

| Thank you Chris for your suggestions - I'll pass them along.
Declan is pronounced like Dec (like in Digital ;>) and Len (as in
leonard). I knew a guy in High School named Declan Merrill. I think it
is a great name.
Btw, fyi, my friends names are Kevin and Pam.
Please keep the suggestions coming!!!
Cheers,
Kim

No help on the meaning of Declan. It isn't in my babynames book!
I think that your friends should stick to something relatively short
for a middle name; considering their last name and their current
first name selections. How about:
Declan John Konyenbelt
Declan Thomas Konyenbelt
Declan Joseph Konyenbelt
Declan Scott Konyenbelt
Matthias John Konyenbelt
Matthias Quinn Konyenbelt
Andreas John Konyenbelt (I guess I like John with all their choices!)
Andreas Charles Konyenbelt
Andreas Matthew Konyenbelt
Personally, I'd go alot shorter on the first name if it were me.
I really like the sounds of Miles Konyenbelt ... think they'd
like that?

773.7 | Declan - a great name! | GRANPA::CSACRA | | Fri Apr 24 1992 13:25 | 12 |
| I just found this notes file - My husband, whose name is Declan, tells
me that it doesn't mean anything really - He said a literal translation
from the Irish would be something like ten, or full - maybe it was a
response by a new mother when being assured that - yes - her new son
had ten fingers and ten toes :-) it is a fairly common name
around Dublin and the east coast of Ireland, but is a name that didn't
seem to travel to the U.S. I have always loved the name, but then, I
am a little predudice. ( I claim no responsibility for the Irish
translation if there are any Gaelic scholars out there - blame it on my
husband's foggy memory of his secondary school Irish class)

My neighbor and his son are named Declan (Murphy).
The only thing is we used to call them (at least the son) Deckie.
I never could decide on that one!
