Linda,
I'm afraid that Christopher is a *very* popular name for a boy; it's
been in the "top 10" for years! I like it - but thought it worth
mentioning, since you're specifically looking for names that aren't
too popular. One other thing about Christopher is that it is often
shortened to Chris and the s's kind of run together in Chris Stinson.
Todd, on the other hand, is a nice, moderately popular name.
Gwendolyn isn't my favorite, but I really like Brooke. Are you
looking for long first names (Christopher, Gwendolyn)? What about
one of these?:
GIRL: Natalie, Victoria, Elaine, Rita, Catherine, Angela, Jacqueline,
Charlotte, Colleen
BOY: Gregory, Jeffrey, Phillip, Timothy, Benjamin, Jonathan,
Nathaniel (my fave: Gregory Todd Stinson)
Good luck and best wishes!
Carol

767.2 | Say the name...how does it sound? | SELL1::FAHEL | Amalthea Celebras/Silver Unicorn | Wed Feb 26 1992 14:13 | 10 |
| I like the name Gwendolyn, but "Gwendolyn Stinson" - too many "n"'s.
And since it would be shortened to either Gwen or Lynn, there is still
the "n" problem - "Gwen Stinson", "Lynn Stinson". The same goes with
"Benjamin Stinson" in .1., although I agree that "Chris Stinson" has
too many "s"'s.
I DO like the name Gregory, and think that IT goes GREAT with Stinson.
I would still think of another girl's name.

| Oo, I really like Gregory Todd too. Thanks for pointing out the "n"
and the "s" problem, I wasn't saying the shortened versions of the
first name together with the last name. We are thinking of lot's of
boys names. Other ones we liked are Carl and Theodore with maybe Scott
as a middle name, but that makes the initials TSS. The girls are
harder, maybe because boys names tend to be more staid. I will bring
home the girls name list in .1 and bring in the list of other girl's
names we are considering.
Thanks,
Linda

| That is one of my rules of picking names...always think of ALL versions
of possible nicknames, initials, etc. WITH the last name. That is how
my husband and I came up with our choices (all we need is a baby to put
the list to!).
(My other rules are - the name must have a reason, and must "grow"
well...but these are my own personal rules.)
