| Hi,
I like Andrew Lee for a boy's name (don't really like Drew Lee,
however. It's very easy to tease with). But Kathleen Lee makes me
feel like too much of the same sound - same with Katie Lee.
For middle names:
Andrew Everett Lee
Andrew Clifford Lee
Andrew Edward Lee
For a girl's name, I'd stay away from any name ending with a "y"
or "ie".
I like:
Alexis Joanna Lee
Amanda Katherine Lee
Arianna Megan Lee
Best of luck to you.

| For a girl's name, _I_ would stay away from a name with an "L" in it.
Kathleen Lee kind of trips over itself. Katherine Lee "flows" a little
more, for instance.
And for a boy, DON'T use Robert as a middle name! Too close to "Robert
E. Lee".
And I LIKE "Elanor" for a middle name! :^) I mean, even "she" had to
be young once! ;^)

| Chris,
Your point about "Drew" is well taken. I prefer "Andy" myself, but my wife does
not. I also agree with your point about the double "lee" sound in "Kathleen Lee"
but it's my wife's favorite name. I disagree, however, about "Katie". I think
that as long as the name doesn't have the "lee" sound in it, an "ie" or "y" is
just fine.
Of the boy's names, I liked "Andrew Edward" the best. "Everett" and "Clifford"
just won't make the cut. They're too stuffy for my taste as my wife would most
likely agree.
Can't accept any of the girl's names since we're set on "Kathleen", though we did
toy with the name "Amanda" for a while.
K.C.,
I also like "Katherine" better that "Kathleen", but for some reason that I don't
entirely understand, my wife hates the former and loves the latter. Since I
intend to call her "Katie", it doesn't matter much for me. I think "Katie Lee"
is a fine name for a young girl, and "Kathleen ??? Lee" will be sufficiently
dignified for a professional woman.
Sam and Rose named their first daughter Elanor if I remember correctly. She had
blonde hair which was unusual for the family. (Don't you just love this. It all
sounds so normal! :-)
As far as boy's names go, fear not. We ruled out Robert a long time ago. I've
been hoping to find a three syllable name, but two syllable names that begin with
a vowel and end in a consonant seen to be ok, like "Edward" or "Albert".

Hi Wook,
If you and your wife have determined to stay with Andrew and Kathleen,
how about these as middle names:
Andrew Christopher Lee
Andrew Steven Lee
Andrew Chad Lee
Andrew Phillip Lee
Andrew Brian Lee
Kathleen Shannon Lee
Kathleen Marissa Lee
Kathleen Amanda Lee
Kathleen Olivia Lee
Kathleen Victoria Lee
Do you like any of these?

| Andrew Christopher Lee (I like it, but my wife wants to use Christopher later :-)
Andrew Edward Lee
Andrew Phillip Lee (Almost changed my name to Phillip once!)
I still like the rhythm of three syllable names like Alister or Cameron.
Actually, Andrew Alister doesn't sound half bad, though my wife may have a
different opinion.
Kathleen Eleanor Lee (I like, but wife hates)
Kathleen Shannon Lee (Katie Shannon sounds even better!)
Marissa sounds okay, but I'm not familiar with the name.
Thanks for all the suggestions, Chris. Don't be discouraged. There's still
plenty of time. I'm just sorry that we have so many restrictions.
Wook
P.S. Isn't there another spelling for Alister? I'll have to look.

| Marissa is known as a "sea name". The meaning is something like, "Of
The Sea".
The only other spelling of Alister I can think of is 2 "L's" -
Allister, or Allistar.
Some more 3 syllable boy names:
Joshua
Harrison
Nicholas
Oliver
Sylvester (not that I'm recommending THIS one!)

Another name that came to mind: Andrew Benjamin.
I like Cameron for a middle name, too. Sounds like your wife plans
to have lots of children since there are so many names she wants to
reserve. Maybe she would consider Christopher Andrew? My son's
name is Jonathan Andrew, and I think that sounds very good together.
By the way, if you decide to stay with Andrew for a first name and
can't settle on a nickname, you can always use his full name - Andrew.
This doesn't always work once the child gets into school. But it
depends on the child. Our friend named their son James, and he is
called James by EVERYone. That is how he introduces himself. To
call him Jim, Jimmie, etc. just wouldn't work.
One place I used to watch for names that were "current" were the
credits on TV shows and at the movies. You might be able to find
something there that will sound just right.

757.8 | Decided to Punt on the Middle Name | WOOK::LEE | Wook... Like 'Book' with a 'W' | Fri Aug 14 1992 14:50 | 14 |
| Well, we decided to skirt the issue completely and give our baby a Korean
middle name.
Andrew Young Kyoon Lee was born on July 29th, 1992 at 2:09 AM! He weighed in
at 7 lbs. 4 ozs. and was 19.5 inches long.
Young means Eternal
Kyoon means Equal, Even, Balanced
So the middle name has connotations of Stability, Steadiness.
Destined to be a pillar of society, I guess.
