Hey, this is something I have a little knowledge about...my father was born in Holland and so each of us kids got at least one Dutch name...Here are some of them that I can think of... Girls ----- Beta Shilah - meaning "To whom it belongs" pronounced shy-la Saskia - pronounced sas-key-ya Marijka - pronounced ma-ri-ka Dina Henny Yasminah (my cousin's...she goes by Minah) Remke Margot Floor Wil Mieka Boys ---- Bernardus (family name, not one I am personally fond of) Johannes George Godfried Han(s) Those are some that come to mind quickly...I'll post anymore that I remember. Several of the names of my Dutch relatives are fairly common "American" names...i.e. Michael, Ben, Bart, Jack, etc... Shilah | |||||
