723.0. "Any suggestions for me?" by WMOIS::MORIN_P () Fri Aug 16 1991 13:11

    Hello everyone! I need suggestions on baby names. Specifically for a
    girl. We are not sure yet what we are going to have. I am due on
    November 29th (Yes...the day after Thanksgiving!  I'll call him/her
    my lil' butterball!) Anyways...we decide on a boy's name: Matthew
    Patrick Morin. (I like Matthew Joseph better...but my husband won
    on this one). We are having a hard time putting together a nice
    combination to go with Morin for a girl's name. (By the way, my
    mom-in-law did the old needle and thread tradition...and of course
    it came out that this one will be a boy...and my second child a girl..
    but who knows if that old wife's tale really works??

    Any suggestions out there?

    Tanya Rose Morin
    Sarah Faye Morin
    Michele Lee Morin
    Mary Wilene Morin (shakey on this one, I like Mary Wilene but not sure
                       how your last name is pronounced so it might not
                       sound right)
    Zometa Katherine Morin (could call her Zoe or Katie)

    thats it for now.

    God bless,
    Trudy

    I'm with you on Matthew Joseph; but Matthew Patric is ok, too!

    Any ideas on a girls name to get it started? I'd suggest names
    that don't end in -in, -en, -on to avoid a rhyming sound (i.e. stay
    away from Lauren Morin!). Here's a couple of suggestions:

    Amanda Jane Morin
    Rebecca Jean Morin
    Jennifer Leigh Morin
    Andrea Beth Morin
    Kimberly Rae Morin
    Elizabeth Kate Morin
    Lindsay Michelle Morin

    Lots and lots of possibilities!

    RE: .1  Trudy,

    You suggest Zometa and Wilene to almost everyone! Is there some
    history behind those names that make them so attractive to you?

    Zometa= grandmother Wilene=momma They are different and if I think
    they sound good with someones name; I suggest them!!! Besides that I
    like them!!!
723.5KYOA::CHANGFri Aug 16 1991 16:2214
    Morin seems to be an easy name to match, but I agree with .2 on
    the endings.  How about:

    Emily Amanda Morin
    Stephanie Teresa Morin
    Patricia Morin
    Barbara Elizabeth Morin
    Alexa Rose Morin

    Do you traditional, biblical, modern names? \

723.6Sorry for the late reply...WMOIS::MORIN_PThu Aug 22 1991 12:5915
    All the names suggested are so lovely, I am not sure which one to
    choose. I was not able to enter back in the notesfile until
    today...things have been so hectic around here. I was surprised at all
    the responses! I am going to make copies and review these with
    Matthew. I do like Patricia Morin! Especially since that's my
    name...but...I wouldn't want to name my daughter the same thing!! I do
    love the name Lauren...but it definately doesn't go with the last name.
    I could probably get away with Laura instead...well, I still have
    plenty of time to make up my mind. Thanks for the suggestions and keep
    them coming...still haven't decided!

    P.S. I do like traditional names. Is there anything that would go
    with Lee for a middle name and not sound too southern..??

723.7Amanda Lee/Rebecca Lee?CNTROL::STOLICNYThu Aug 22 1991 13:1915

    There's lots of names that work with Lee as a middle name and
    don't sound too southern! I don't think Laura is one of them
    though 8-).   How about?:

    Jessica Lee Morin
    Amanda Lee Morin
    Courtney Lee Morin
    Michelle Lee Morin
    Andrea Lee Morin
    Rebecca Lee Morin

    Take your pick!

723.8Very nice suggestions!WMOIS::MORIN_PThu Aug 22 1991 13:4510
    Those are very nice suggestions. My mother's middle name is Lee and I
    always thought her name was so nice: Roberta Lee and her nickname is
    Bobbie. Everything I seemed to put with the middle name sounded
    southern to me. Rebecca Lee is very nice and Jessica is pretty
    too...but my next door neighbor's little girl is Jessica...don't want
    to be a copycat.

    Thanks for the suggestions!  ;)

    Robin Lee came to my mind when I was reading your note. Also when
    you were talking about Laura and Lauren, I thought of Larissa. But
    I don't know how Larissa Lee sounds together.

723.11Narrowing down...WMOIS::MORIN_PTue Aug 27 1991 13:4617
    Well, we are still dabling with a few names. The ones suggested are
    very nice. Clarissa is a little unusual, I will see what my husband
    thinks.

    Some that we have narrowed down to are:

    Rachel Marie
    Jennifer Lee
    Laura Ashley
    Kimberly Ann

    I am sure it will come down to one of these four. This is such
    hard work!!

    Thank you all for your help! I really appreciated it!

723.12Jennifer or Lindsay LeeRAB::MEHRINGWed Sep 11 1991 17:1210
I really think

	Jennifer Lee Morin
    (or Jenna Lee Morin)

sounds the best of your choices. I also really like a previous noter's
suggestion of Lindsay Morin (Lindsay Lee is also cool-sounding, I think).

Good luck,
-Cori
