713.0. "name for Wahl" by DPDMAI::WAHL () Fri Jul 26 1991 18:21

I am due the first week of December and we are not decided on a name
yet. My husband, Richard, wants the child to have the intials of R.J..
Don't ask me why, he just does. We won't name the child after him and
we are not real big on re-using family names. So far the only name
dicussed is Reece for a boy, I have not seen anything on that name in
    this file.

    Any suggestions?

Hmmm...most of the "R" boys' names are one syllable and I think that
a 2 or 3 syllable name goes with Wahl a bit better. I prefer
Reed over Reece for a similar sounding name. Other R names that
    are kinda nice:

    Regan Joseph Wahl
    Rhett Joseph Wahl
Riley James Wahl <--- I think Riley Wahl sounds great!
    Rudy Jacob Wahl
    Ross Jonathan Wahl
    Reed Joseph Wahl
    Russell Jacob Wahl

There's also the traditionals - Richard, Ronald, Robert, Randall.

What about Rhianna for teh girl...that's my favorite, and if I have
a girl I intend to use. It's Welsh.

Thanks for the suggestions. I too like Riley.

.3 is there an alternate way to spell Rhianna? It is an unusual, but
    pretty name.

There seems to be more boy names that I like then girl names. The
names I like: Renee` and Rachel are cousin names. I have decided on Julia
for the middle name. I really need more girls names to choose from,
since the sonogram strongly suggests that it will be a girl ( I know
    it could go either way).

    Anymore suggestions out there?

713.5Robin or Rochelle?TIPTOE::STOLICNYWed Aug 14 1991 14:0319

Well, I suppose you could use Riley for a girl but I like it
better for a boy. Other girls' names that begin with "R":

    Rae
    Rita
    Rhonda
    Rochelle
    Robin
    Rose/Roseanne/Rosemary
    Roxanne
    Ruth

Can't say that I like all of them though! I think that Robin Julia and
Rochelle Julia would be the best bets. As far as Rhianna is concerned,
wasn't there a Fleetwood Mac song "Rhiannon"? Maybe that would be
    an alternate spelling.

Rhiannon was the name of a Welch witch (which is what the song is
about), and seeing that it was said that Rhianna is Welch....

.5 Riley was the name for a boy that I liked, never even thought
about that for a girl. Robin is good, but I know too many people
    with that name. Thanks.
