Maybe you can combine some of the names listed. Do you like James
as a first name? Then how about:
James Patrick Dowd
James Ian Dowd
James Liam Dowd
If you don't like James, maybe you can use it as a middle name and
that will be okay with your husband:
Patrick James Dowd
Andrew James Dowd

I don't care for your husband's choice, I think a two-syllable first
name would sound much nicer than James/Jim Dowd. However, I do
think that James would make an excellent middle name and really
like your first name choices of Ian and Brian. Both sound good with
James for a middle name. Other ideas are:
Alexander James Dowd
Colin Andrew Dowd
Kevin James Dowd
Good luck! How do you know it's a boy?

705.3 | BOY? OR GIRL? | ICS::DOWD | | Mon Jul 15 1991 11:26 | 11 |
| Thank you for your suggestions. I really like Alexander James.
How do I know its a boy? Well...I gave in and asked at the ultrasound.
Although I know that there is a margin for error.
We've selected a girls name (in case it is a girl). We've
chose Nina Alexandra.
Thanks again for the suggestions!

705.4 | Dowd lV sounds great to me, go for it! | NYEM1::OMALLEY | | Wed Jul 17 1991 14:23 | 9 |
| I'd go with your husbands name even though he doesn't want the child
to have the same name. I have a Thomas Joesph O'malley lV and he loves
his name. It makes him feel powerfull, and when you are a child growing
up in todays world you need alot of things to give you high self-esteem
and that is one of them, your name. It will also carry him into the
world of work. My husband told me that he really didn't want our first
son to have his name but out of respect for him and his family I did.
My son is proud of his name and his father is proud of him. go for it.
