What kinds of names do you like? You must have some "possibilities"!
Do you want something Irish to go with the last name? What's the
father's name? Do you want to use any family names?
How about?:
Sean Michael Killoran
Alexander John Killoran
Patrick Thomas Killoran
Ryan Daniel Killoran
Kyle Thomas Killoran
Joseph Andrew Killoran
Timothy John Killoran
Colleen Marie Killoran (Colleen Killoran might be a bit much!)
Abigail Jeanne Killoran
Maureen Erin Killoran
Lindsay Rae Killoran
Kelsey Rae Killoran
Good luck,
Carol

The father's name is Kevin Patrick Killoran, he has
a twin sister named Kathleen Patricia Killoran.
So we are interested in Irish names mostly. One he
picked was Sean Michael Killoran and for a girl he
really likes the name Erin.
I like Ryan - which happens to be his Mom's maiden name.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the input so far.

697.3 | Ryan Patrick? | CNTROL::STOLICNY | | Tue Jun 18 1991 16:51 | 11 |

Well, I do like Sean Michael which is why I put it on my list!
However, I think it would be great to use Ryan since it's his
mother's maiden name. I think Ryan Patrick Killoran sounds
excellent and passes on dad's middle name.
I'm not sure that I like the sounds of Erin Killoran, but that's
just one opinion. How about Shauna Michelle for a girl? I also
think Kelsey Killoran sounds cute.

How about Patricia Jeanne Killoran?
I really like some of the suggestions in .1.
For other names: Margaret Kathleen Killoran
Kelly Jeanne Killoran
Kaitlin Patricia Killoran

| Just looked up Irish names and came up with these:
Brigette
Shevawn
Tara
Maura
Maureen
Some combinations of these include:
Brigette Shevawn Killoran
Maura Brigette Killoran
Tara Maureen Killoran
I have seen Brigette and Shevawn spelled other ways, too.
By the way, congratulations.

How about Shawn Leigh Killoran? Just passing through and thought I'd
drop that in. It was my older sisters name only spelled Lee instead.
Good Luck and God bless you all,

| Shevawn looks like somebody's attempt to spell Siobahn the way it
sounds instead of the Gaelic way ... and to me it looks awful!
(Just my opinion ... sorry to any Shevawns out there ... but I
really do prefer the Gaelic way!)

Siobhan was my first choice but my husband hates it.
Then he teases me and suggests Sinead. All I can
picture is a daughter with no hair...;-)
Still need a girls name - and I haven't quite talked
him into Ryan Patrick - he wants Sean Michael which
is alright but prefer Ryan Patrick.

How about Sean Patrick? Then you both get part of each name you like.
And I agree with Sinead...it definitly evokes a picture of a bald girl

Sinead = Bald girl in my mind, too (and a very controversial one at
that!).
If you like Ryan Patrick for a boy, how about Breanne Patricia for
a girl?

Well, I am back again looking for help with names
to go with Killoran for baby number two!
Ryan Patrick Killoran was born August 26, 1991.
For a boy we have the name Sean Michael selected.
What we need is a girls name.
Ryan was very lucky he was a boy, because when I
was in labor, we still could not agree on a girls
name.

| Hi Jeanne,
Congratulations on baby number two on the way. Have you re-read
this note for girls names? When I did, it seemed that Siobhan
was the name you prefered for a girl but your husband didn't like
it.
Is it possible to use Siobhan for a middle name? Then you would
narrow down to picking a matching first name: ____ Siobhan Killoran.
How about:
Kathleen Siobhan Killoran (maybe too much with the "K"s)
Margaret Siobhan Killoran
Patricia Siobhan Killoran (using your son's middle name)
Claire Siobhan Killoran ("K" sounds again)
Grace Siobhan Killoran

It's been awhile since I have been in this file:
I did re-read this note so far and to be honest, nothing
strikes right with me.
My husband told me that if this baby is a boy, he does
not want to call him Sean Michael. So I am looking for
suggestions for a boys name.
Family names are William, John and Charles. His brother
and father are named William. Our nephew is named Charles.
John we were told is not a good name because I guess he
was not well liked. This was a grandfather who passed
away long before my husband was even born. Our other
nephew is Christopher. So those are all out.
As far as a girl's name, I am starting to lean towards
Shannon for some reason. Any opinions? Any ideas for
a middle name?
I like Kaitlin and Kayla but both are too popular. Patricia
was a good suggestion and that was my Mom's first name.
Other family names are Cecilia, Dorothy and Mary. I think
Dorothy is too old fashion - it was my husbands Mom's first
name and we already named Ryan after her, because Ryan was
her maiden name.
My husband really does not like Siobhan. So I guess there is
no way I can influence him to change his mind.
Thanks for all the help so far.
