696.0. "Girl names for Baby Gosselin" by ZEKE::J_GOSSELIN (more than conquerors through Him) Sat Jun 15 1991 00:41

Hi,
I just had an ultrasound and to my surprise the sonographer said my baby
looked like a little girl. I had thought all along I was having a boy
(my husband only has brothers). We have a boy's name picked out already,
but we can't decide upon a little girl's name. Here are the criteria:

1- Can't end in an A or ER (we don't have a New England accent and we don't
want the baby's name ruined by it)

2- We'd like to have a three syllable first name.

3- The name can't have a nickname that ends with -ie or -y. ( this is my
husband's idea since he still has cousins and friends who call him Danny)

I know this makes things a little difficult, but if you have any ideas I would
greatly appreciate them!!

Thanks,
Jill

Given the ultrasound, it is wise to have a girl's name ready. But
keep the boy's name available, too!

With the criteria you listed, I could only think of names that
satisfied 2 of the 3 listed. In most cases, not ending with an
A or ER was easy enough, but then three sylables was more difficult.

Anyhow this is what I came up with:

    Stephanie	(Steff) 3 Syl.
    AnnMarie	(Ann) 3 Syl.
    Emily	(none) 3 Syl.
    Abigail	(Abi) 3 Syl.
    Michelle	(none) 2 Syl.
    Elaine	(none) 2 Syl.
    Rachel	(none) 2 Syl.
    Christine	(Chris) 2 Syl.

There are lots of 2 sylable names without nicknames, but a 3 sylable
name is almost certain to be shortened to something with an IE or Y
    at the end.

Good luck with picking a name. And congratulations.

.1 is right, this is kind of difficult. Here's a few:

    	Allison
    	Carolyn or Caroline
    	Jillian
        Arielle

Are you sure you can't relax on the -a ending...there's lots of
possibilities there (Alyssa, Pamela, Melissa, Christina, Alicia).

What's you boy's name choice? Just curious.

Is your surname Gosselin ? If so, I like traditional christian names
    with it.

    Try :

    Jeanette
    Marie
    Charlotte
    Louise
    Lindsay

Do you like any of these ?

How about Alexandra? It ends in -a, but I don't think it could
be massacred by the Boston accent because of the "r"....can't imagine
someone saying Alexandr-er! Alexandra Leigh Gosselin, how's that?

Hi,
I really like Alexandra! I'll have to check with the hubby to see what
he thinks. He's actually the one putting all of the stipulations on for
the baby's name. I personally like Chloe.

Thanks for all of your suggestions!

    Hi Jill,
How about Sharon Leigh Gosselin? I like the name Chloe also. What
would you give as a middle name? I also like Alexis Marie Gosselin.
Anyway good luck and God bless you and Dan with a healthy, happy baby
whichever sex it turns out to be.

    In Christ,
