668.0. "LOBBY....A BABY HALL" by FILTON::HALL_F () Wed Apr 17 1991 06:59

    Lobby...a baby Hall
Due mid July 91, Francis John and Rosemary Elizabeth are facing the
name game for our first time! Someone suggested Chuck for a boy (think
about it-you might laugh!) Ro likes the sound of Oliver....but I'm
worried that he'll always ask for more....

Family names in use are John,Simon,Peter & Margaret,Angela,Lucy.
Should we go for a long name...or is shorter sweeter?

    Any thoughts much appreciated.

    Francis & Ro

PS. Lobby would work for a boy or girl, but we have never heard of it
being used before.......unless you know different???

Definitely a L-O-N-G name would go good with your short, short last
name, although a short name MIGHT be sweet! :^)

Oliver is a good name, but people might want to call him "Ollie Hall"
or "Oll Hall" (Incidentally, "Oliver!" is one of my fave musicals!)

    Girls:

    Clarissa
    Gwendolyn
    Annemarie
    Rebecca
    Cassandra
    Stephanie

    Boys:
    Alexander
    Bartholomew
    Richard

    How about;

Olivia Rose Hall (usually ((when used)) the nickname for Olivia is Livi)
    Elizabeth Mary Hall
    Jacquilyn Frances Hall (Jacqui Hall)
    Amanda Rosemary Hall
    Diana Cathryn Hall

I like Francis as a middle name for all the below:

    Brian Francis Hall
    Nicholas Francis Hall
    Gregory Francis Hall
    Andrew Hall
Christian Hall (OOPS - guess not) *
    Mitchell Hall ...

Boy, Hall is a good last name. Simple and strong.. Honestly ,
ANYTHING seems to go! (well almost *)

    Good Luck and Have Fun!!

668.3is lobby your choice?TIPTOE::STOLICNYWed Apr 17 1991 14:3415

I think I missed something in the base note. Is Lobby the name you
are considering for your baby be it boy or girl? I've never heard
of this name....and, aahh, it wouldn't be *my* first pick!

There are some nice suggestions in the last two notes. I agree
with K.C. that a long name that can't be shortened to a single
syllable nickname would be best with the last name Hall. Here's
    my suggestions (some repeats)

Girls: Alexandra, Amanda, Victoria, Melissa, Rebecca, Emily
Boys: Alexander, Jeremy, Brian, Kevin, Colin

    Good luck,
    Carol

I like the suggestion of using each of the parents' first names as
a middle name and came up with the following:

    Matthew Francis
    Everett Francis
    Henry Francis
    Nelson Francis
    Brian Francis

    Nancy Elizabeth
    Diane Elizabeth
    Carolyn Elizabeth
    Barbara Elizabeth

    Best of luck,

    Chris

Just a couple of suggestions. If they sound a little southern its
because they are! Except for Jason

    Mary Wilene Hall
    Tonya Rose Hall

    Jason Alexis Hall
    Jerry Ray Hall

I know this is much overdue - but just had to throw this in ...
My grandmother's name before marriage was Amanda Hall.

    Cheers,
