| I am having no luck at all! I first thought of "Keith", but that
makes it Keith Southworth th th th... I then came up with Ryan, but
Ryan Lyon? No way! Then I thought of Jordan, but you stated no "J"
names. Let's try again!
Lawrence
Tomas (like Thomas, without the "h")
Randall
Lee/Leo
Maxwell (You can't get much more masculine than Max!)
*whew* That's better! :^)

Too bad you don't want a "J" name because here's what first
popped into my head: Jeffrey Lyon Southworth. Oh well.
Here's a few more:
David Lyon Southworth
Jacob Lyon Southworth
Adam Lyon Southworth
Eric Lyon Southworth
Southworth is kinda tough to work with!

RE: Jeffrey Lyon
Isn't that a meteorologist for one of the Boston national
networks? (ABC, CBS, NBC?) Maybe that's why it was the
first name that came into your head. (8
/Kim ...who likes Jeffrey too!

Victor (Vic) Southworth
Doug Southworth
Clyde Southworth
Cooper Southworth
Gavin Southworth
Wade Southworth
p.s.
You could remind "the football player" in your husband that many of the NFL
players have what lots of people would consider "sissy" names (Ellis, Fran,
Mosi, Otis) and that obviously wasn't a deterrent to their success!
Happy name-hunting,

635.8 | Craig Southworth? | TIPTOE::STOLICNY | | Fri Jan 25 1991 08:25 | 6 |

I've thought of another one that I think sounds great!
How about Craig Lyon Southworth? Craig goes well with Lyon
and sounds good with Southworth for everyday use.

| I second the vote for Craig! Its perfect; short to go with a long last
name, very "masculine" (I have NEVER heard a girl even NICKNAMED
Craig), goes well with Lyon AND Southworth, no "th", no "s", no "J"!

more: Patrick Lyon Southworth.

Of the others mentioned, I think Adam sounds the best...

| Carol: You always come up with such nice names! Jeffrey sounds
wonderful, but now that that's out, Craig does sound very
nice. My step-son's name is Craig and it does go well
with a multi-syllabic last name. I think his middle name
is Vernon, after his maternal great-grandfather.
So Susan... I vote for Craig. And by the way, congratulations.

| I vote for Patrick and Jeffrey. Great sounding names that I think go well
with your last name.
I, too, wanted to use Patrick (but hubby didn't like it), but I already
had a Matthew (Matt) and couldn't see having a Pat and a Matt. BUT,
you can use Rick as a nickname for Patrick. (In my case that was out, too,
because my husband's name is Rick.)

If you can't stand Pat, I personally wouldn't go for Patrick. It's
too much of a risk to assume that you'll be able to convince your
child *and his friends* to call him Patrick, not Pat! That's why
I crossed Susan and Laura off my list of possibilities (love the
given name, don't care for Sue or Laurie at all - no offense anyone,
I just don't like them for my child!)
..and then there's always Gregory (similar to Craig and Jeffrey
combined!)

| Those are my suggestion too...
Gregory Lyon Southworth
(Greg Lyon Southworth)
or Craig Lyon Southworth
I like Jeffrey Lyon Southworth alot also. Why is it that you want to
stay away from the J names for a son? (Just curious).
There "is" another spelling for Jeffrey. It is Geoffry. I knew brothers
named Geoff and Gregg Bond. You'd probally have to "spell" it all the
time, but Geoff didn't seem to be bothered by it.
Just a thought.
Congrats!
Hey, what about: Mitchell Lyon Southworth? Mitch Southworth...

| re: Sean
Two co-workers in my building have had babies in the past month.
Both named their sons Sean. I was amazed since I never considered
it to be a particularly popular name; nice, just not very popular.
My vote still goes for Gregory...
What is your girl's choice (just in case!).
