Yup, apparently mhe in gaelic is pronounced va.. hence the
pronounciation of Caoimhe is Keeva.
Unusual, but I like it.

| Yes... Just like Siobahn is pronounced Sha-von'. I always thought
it was interesting how Gaelic names can be so different from English.
Sorry, but I don't have any info for you on the meanings of the names
you asked about. They sound nice, though.

557.4 | Gaelic pronounced Galic and not Gaylic | AYOV18::TWASON | | Wed Jul 25 1990 03:49 | 10 |
| When I was about 13 the whole family went up to Oban (that's further
up the western coast of Scotland - just over 100 miles away from
Ayr) for a summer holiday. It was then I noticed that the other
people round about us kept calling my dad Seamus (Shamus) when I
asked why my dad said it was the Gaelic version of James which is
his name.

What lovely names you've chosen.
Does anyone know of any other Irish/Gaelic names - I have some Irish
blood in my family and am expecting my first in November.
