| 514.2 | a few ideas | RANCHO::BORDA |  | Fri Mar 23 1990 13:32 | 12 |
|  |     How about:

    Evan
    Keith or Kyle

    Boy's names are definitely harder. It's also hard to come up with a
    "different" name to go with Smith (without being too different...).
    Hope these help a bit. I'll try and think of more!

    I wish you all the best!

    I agree...getting a boy's name that is different but not entirely
    strange is very difficult. How about these for suggestions?:

    Quinton
    Tyler
    Joshua
    Jeremy
    Justin
    or Jacob

    Good Luck

| | God, this is almost laughable... I can never come up with a
    boy's name that I like better than Ian. Ian Smith... nice ring.

| 514.5 | How about Kenneth? | RIPPLE::JOHNSON_JO |  | Wed Mar 28 1990 15:24 | 5 |
| | How about Kenneth? From the Gaelic, meaning "handsome", I think.

    I would consider using this name if I had a son. It's all-around
    but not too common. Un-bland. Conveys strength, intelligence.

| 514.6 | Another vote for Kenneth | STEREO::FAHEL | Amalthea Celebras, Luincarandir | Thu Mar 29 1990 07:13 | 6 |
| | Kenneth is either my choice for my son's middle name, or, if twins, the
    second boy.

    The first is Robert.

| 514.7 | I like Matthew | KYOA::CHANG |  | Fri Apr 06 1990 08:16 | 5 |
| | How about Matthew. It is an easy first name to match with a middle
    name, too. I like the combination Matthew David, but a male relative
    or friend's name, could be used as a middle name.

| 514.8 | New Rules! | BTOVT::SMITH_C |  | Wed Apr 11 1990 12:37 | 19 |
|  |     Hi Again,

    Thanks for all the suggestions - so far we're still stuck on a
    boy's name, but at least we're discussing it!

    I've got a couple new guildlines that I'm wondering if people can
    help with...

    We'd like the middle name to be DAVID and because BRENNA is an
    Irish-Gailec (sp?) name, I'd like to find another Irish name to
    go with it. (Doesn't need to begin with 'B')

    By the way, I'm taking the Buy-out in a couple weeks!!! so this will
    be my last opportunity to utilize this notes file - it's been great
    and I'll definately miss it!

    Thanks again for all the help.

| | God, K.C.! You're fast! But you forgot one... Evan! I like
    that one a lot, but not as much as Ian. Thomas? Nahh, sounds
    too dull with Smith. Patrick is nice, though...

| 514.11 | no go on Ian | BTOVT::SMITH_C |  | Thu Apr 12 1990 08:45 | 7 |
| | I like Ian myself, but tried it out on my husband - no go.

    Gotta keep trying.....

    Evan's not bad - I'll bring that one home tonight. Thanks

| 514.12 | Oh, those husbands! | FENNEL::MACDONALD_K |  | Thu Apr 12 1990 09:43 | 16 |
|  |     Cheryl,

    I had the same problem with *my* husband when I was pregnant!
    Well, ALL of the the boys' names he liked, I hated. When I
    was in the birthing room just about to have my baby we still
    weren't decided about what to name our baby if it was a boy
    and then the nurse said "So... what names have you picked out?"
    My husband immediately piped up and said "Ian for a boy and
    Allyson for a girl." I couldn't believe it! I guess when he
    saw me having all those horrendous contractions, he changed
    his tune. He would've probably said yes to anything if I had
    asked him at that time. At any rate, keep working on your hubby.
    Maybe he'll surprise you ;-)

    - Kathryn
