| It's too bad that your last name is HOPE. I have always found that a
nice first name.
Let's see; old English:
Elizabeth
Anna
Anastasia (not sure of that one)
Christiana

| I just had a baby girl 4 months ago and we named her Allyson.
I think that sounds nice with Hope. Of course it could also
be spelled Alison or Allison, but we liked it with a Y.
How about Elizabeth (like previous note [500]), or Melanie, or
Melissa? I think Hope is nice last name to work with. You should
probably go for a name with more than one syllable, however. I
think 3 syllable names sound nice with one syllable last names.
Too bad my daughter's name is such a mouthful!
Anyway... about boys' names... Benjamin sounds nice, or Colin,
or Evan, or (my favorite) Ian.
Good luck and keep us posted!

| I'll second the previous replies of Elizabeth and Evan. I think
they both sound great with Hope...
Good luck

501.4 | A tiny piece of advise: | STEREO::FAHEL | Amalthea Celebras, Luincarandir | Mon Feb 26 1990 07:16 | 8 |
| I just thought of a name NOT to give to the little Hope:
Karen. But for only one reason: Karen Hope (Care and Hope) is too
open for teasing.
I'll also vote for Elizabeth.

Hmmm... some good old English names for a boy...
Perhaps "William" (nickname "Wills"?)
or Andrew,
or Benjamin,
or Timothy,
or James ("Jamie"),
or Samuel,
or Geoffrey....
Good luck!
