A friend of mine has a son named Micah. Does anyone know the
story behind the name? My friend said that they got it from the
"Rifleman" TV series - it was the name of the sheriff.

Hi! What a wonderful name. It comes from the Old Testament. There
is an entire book in the Old Testament written by the prophet Micah,
Titled "Micah". The name Micah means.."Who is like the Lord". It
is a short book containing only 7 chapters. I had chosen this name
many years ago for my male child, however I am still awaiting a
male child, or any child for that matter! I haven't lost all hope
yet!
