My son is 6months old now. When I named him I was not into finding out the meaning of names. But reading these notes has prompted my interest. His name is Markis Branden. What is the meaning of these names??? Does anyone know?

Markis looks like it would be a variation of Marcus. K.C.

RE> .0 Sorry to get off the track so quickly on this but I couldn't resist. In the title you had the word "Sparks" which I'm sure my wife would not like for our July '90 baby, but I do think it would make a pretty interesting name for a son. I can just see it "Sparks Baker". Perfect for the future in Baseball...;^) Cheers Steve

I couldn't find the name Markis, but I did find Markos and Markus, which was listed as variations of Mark. BTW, Mark is Latin and means "warlike". As for Branden, it was listed as a varient spelling of Brandon, which is Old English and means "from the beacon hill." |
