I checked my baby names book. I found "Marian", which is a form of Maryann "Miriam", which means "bitter" and also is the original Hebrew form of Mary I did not find "Maryam", BUT under Mary, is gave "Mariam" as a variation. So if you want a unique spelling of Mariam, go with Maryam. - ori

I have seen the name Maryam several times. The one I remember best: there is an actress named Maryan D'Abo. She was in the James Bond movie "The Living Daylights", and later was in that TV show last season where she played an alien. She is very pretty. From what I understand, Maryam is an English name.

MARYAM looks like it might be a typo. |
