454.0. "Pls. help name "Baby Hay"" by SLSTRN::HAY () Tue Oct 17 1989 13:48

    Hi - our baby is due January 1st, and since I've been reading this file
    since we found out we're expecting I thought it was about time now to
    get your opinions/recommendations for naming "Baby Hay". My name is
    Cheryl Marie Hay, my husband is William Raymond Hay, Jr. (there won't
    be a third!!) Ideas so far are:

    BOYS
    ----

    Cameron Mitchell Hay
      The meaning of Cameron, "crooked nose" has us a little worried, but
      it's the only one we've agreed upon so far. Any other ideas? "Hay"
      is so short!!

    GIRLS
    -----

    Samantha Marie Hay
    Samantha Michelle Hay

    Rebecca Lynne Hay
      Does anyone have a different nickname for Rebecca besides Becky or
      Reba? This is what's holding us back, primarily, on this one. We
      don't care for those two nicknames.

    Allison ? Hay

    -----

    Suggestions that have nothing to do with the above are welcome as well.
    You all have such wonderful ideas, I love reading this file. Thanks in
    advance for any help you can offer!

    Regards,
    Cheryl

454.1Why shorten it?SKIWVA::FSCNOTue Oct 17 1989 13:535
    I have seen Becca as a nickname but why shorten it at all. I love
    the name Rebecca but my husband axed it. I agree though Becky and
    Reba aren't too hot.

    How about the name Audra, I think it goes nicely with Hay

    For a girl, my vote goes with Samantha Marie.

    For a boy, how about Samuel Mitchell? Or Raymond Mitchell?

    re:454.4

    not that you need my 2 cents, but Raymond Mitchell sounds good until
    you put it all together with the last name. The kid would end up
    as Ray Hay. :')

    from someone who has already thought of this possibility (Hayes)

    see ya,

454.6 a couple ideas...FSHQA2::JMCGINNISJOYCE_MCGINNISTue Nov 07 1989 16:4312
    How about,

    Michael John Hay
    "       James Hay
    "       Christopher Hay

    or

    Cathrine Lin Hay

    JM

454.7Samantha Allison HaySLSTRN::HAYFri Aug 31 1990 13:2414
    Well, we finally decided at the last minute on
                    Samantha Allison Hay
                    born January 13, 1990
                    8 lb. 5 1/2 oz.
                    23 1/2" long

    She's the light of our lives, and her name just seemed to "fit" her.
    It's funny, but looking back at my note I can't imagine her as any of
    the other names we were considering.

    Thanks for your help!

    Nice choice, Cheryl and CONGRATULATIONS! I really like Samantha's
    middle name, too. My daughter's name is Allyson so that's why I'm
    partial to it. All the best to you and your family.
