453.0. "Cameron?/Nicole?/Clark?" by CIMNET::JACOBSEN () Fri Oct 13 1989 11:23

I am due in January and I am looking for feedback/suggestions on female
    and male names.

    What do you think of:

    Cameron Drew Jacobsen

    Clark Tyler Jacobsen

    Clark ? Jacobsen

    Nicole ? Jacobsen
    (suggestions on a middle name?)

    Camille ? Jacobsen

    Garrett Jacobsen

    Mellissa Jacobsen

Suggestions welcome. I am looking for male names that are don't easily
    shorten into a common nickname.

    Regards,

    Marcelle Jacobsen

453.1Well, here's some feedback.STEREO::FAHELAmalthea, the Silver UnicornFri Oct 13 1989 12:2916
Why do you want a boy's name that can not be shortened, yet you
have for girls Melissa (Missy) and Nicole (Nikki)?

I like the boys names you have chosen (Clark, Garrett) and I like
Melissa, Nicole and Camille, but I don't care too much for Cameron.

    How's these?

Clark Tyler Jacobsen (as you had it)
    Garrett Clark Jacobsen

    Camille Drew Jacobsen
    Camille Nicole Jacobsen
    Melissa Drew Jacobsen

    K.C.

Isn't Drew a boys name? I love all of your choices accept Melissa.
I always think of Little House on the Prairie when I think of that
name. And it is kind of ordinary too. All of your others are
different! I like Cameron and wanted that for a boys name but we
looked it up in the baby names book and it means Crooked Nose!
That didn't matter to me but it did to my husband! Needless to
say we didn't choose that one!

Since your name is Marcelle, how about Garrett Marc for a boy. Now
that sounds good! or Marc Garrett. Either sounds real nice.

Is your last name Wagner? My cousin from Argentina's name is Marcella.
I was surprized to see your name Marcelle, since I haven't seen it
since my cousin came to visit us 5 years ago.

Actually Garrett Marcelle sounds very sharp too. Marcelle can be
either masculine or feminine. i.e. Marcelle Marceau... (male mime)

For girls, well, I don't favor Melissa really, but that doesn't matter.
It's not a bad name, I just know "alot" of Melissa's. That's all...

Diana Marcelle sounds preeeeety!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do you
think of that name for a girl??

    Christina
453.4Garrett, a popular choiceSKIWVA::FSCNOMon Oct 16 1989 16:5110
We're expecting in early April and the name my husband has picked
is Garrett. Actually Garrett Devin is his choice. Its ok but not
really what I wanted. But I do think Garrett is a pretty name.

For your girl's choice I like Camille. Maybe Camille Nicole. Sounds
    kind of French doesn't it?

    Good Luck

    Cindy

Thank you for the feedback. I never even thought of Drew for a female
middle name before we'll have to consider it. Drew is kind of a family
name -- my father-in-law's middle name and my grandfather-in-law's
first name. Actually it was "Andrew Thomas Jacobsen" and I noticed
someone else in this note's file was considering Andrew Thomas also. I
don't care for Andy or Tom though and don't want to risk it being
shortened to Andy instead of Drew.

Also, I was glad to hear several "anti" Mellissa votes. That's my
husbands suggestion and I'm not really sold on it yet. I thought there
    were quite a few around.

I never thought of naming a boy Marc or even using any form of my name
but I'll think about it. I'm glad you like Camille Nicole and yes it
does sound French. Maybe that's why I like it. I was often asked
about my name because it was French.

    Shortening a boy's name isn't bad for a nickname I just don't want it
to be a common short name. My husband loves the nickname Ty which is
why he's suggesting Tyler. The only other extension of Ty I can think
of is Tyrone. Comments on Tyrone?

How would you spell a nickname for Camille? Cammie?

Thanks again for the help. Marcelle

Camille could be shortened to Millie.
