| Well, although my name isn't Rocco, I know of some interesting
instances that you might find amusing.
I knew a girl named Bobbi. Her father's name was Bobby, her brother's
name was Bobby, and her boyfriend was staying with them, and his
name was (you guessed it) Bobby!
I think getting used to another Rocco would be the LEAST of your
problems. ;^)
Besides, you seem very proud of your name. Passing it on might
be a great gift. (What does your wife think about it?)

I agree. Good gift to pass on to your little one. Besides, I think
Rocco is a cool name.

Hi, I went to high-school with a guy named Rocco, spelt exactly that
way. Have you thought of maybe making Rocco his middle name, or even
calling him by his middle name, if you intend on keeping Rocco as his
first name.
Good luck, what if it's a girl?

| I think it's "cool", too.
Also, see note #351 for a discussion of "Rocco"

| Hi,
I think it's a nice idea that you want to pass on your name. You seem
to "really" want to keep the tradition alive and that's special. If
you are still called Rocky often, then your son could be called Rocco
and that would make it less confussing. If not, then some people may
refer to him as "little Rocco" - That's what happened to my brother
Wesley. My Dad's name is the same, so when people called - they asked
for Big Wes or Little Wes and my brother Hated it! But - it all ends
up working out.

| Here is a poem on a plaque I saw. It is really for last names,
but it fits here.
You got it from your father,
It was all he had to give.
So it's yours to use and cherish,
For as long as you may live.
If you lose the watch he gave you,
It can always be replaced,
But a black mark on your name, son,
Can never be erased.
It was clean the day you took it
And a worthy name to bear,
When he got it from his father,
There was no dishonor there.
So make sure you guard it wisely,
After all is said and done,
You'll be glad the name is spotless
When you give it to your son.
