My family is acquainted with a family, mother's name Marilyn, father's name Douglas. When deciding on a name for their new baby daughter, they put the two parent's names together to come up with "Marilas" (pronounced more like "Marilys"). Everyone seems to like the name, including the namee. John

It really depends on the parents' names. I know if if my husband and I combined ours, we'd come up with something very strange :-) I do know of some people, however, who combined their names (Vernon and Eileen) and came with Verleen for their oldest daughter. I'm not too fond of it, and I certainly like Marilas much better. - KM | |||||

I have a friend whose parents did the same type of thing. Her father's name is Charles and her mother's name is Arleen and they came up with Charlene!!! /Kim |
