420.0. "Victoria ???" by THRUST::MAXEY () Tue Aug 08 1989 13:16

    Hi,

We're expecting our first on September 27th.

We've been considering Victoria Ann for the girls name with
the idea that we would call her Tori Ann for short. The full
name would be Victoria Ann Popp (pronounced Pope). Is this too
    stuffy? Comments?

    Lisa,

I don't think it sounds stuffy - I just don't think Ann rolls
right with Victoria. Victoria ends with an 'a' and Ann begins
with one. Maybe a middle name that begins with a consonant
would sound better, but this, of course, is only *my* opinion.
I don't claim to be any expert on names or anything - I just
know what I like. If you're stuck on Tori Ann, then name her
Tori and forget all about Victoria. I knew someone named Tory
once and always thought it was an interesting name. I also
know someone named Lori Ann. Whatever you decide, I'm sure
your little one will be happy.

I *love* the name Victoria! How about Victoria Leigh ? I have
always liked the combination Amanda Leigh Victoria also!

There are two Digital employees that like the name Victoria.

My husband & I just had a little girl on born July 16 (one month old
yesterday). We named her Victoria Claire James. She is usually called
Claire, but Vicki and Victoria are also used by friends and family.
She is already showing an independent streak, so I bet she picks her
own name by the time she gets through Jr. High.

I am on maternity leave and was taking Ba

My husband and I are expecting our first child in January. We're
considering the name Victoria for a girl. We are also considering
Toria (just drop the Vic!). We would want to call her Tori, however it
would be nice if she had a choice of a more formal name for business
cards. I really do like Toria, it's unique, but not outlandish. So
    far we've thought of:

(Vic)toria Leigh (my husbands middle name is Victor, mine is Leigh)
(Vic)toria Sue (a very close friend of mine is Karen Sue)
    (Vic)toria Suzanne (see above)
(Vic)toria Saige (my favorite uncle was named Herb, Sage is an herb...)
(Vic)toria Elise (my grandmother recently died, her name was Elsie Leigh)

As for a boy, we were considering Steven Alexander, but that would give
him the initials SAP... We're thinking about Victor Alexander (again
after my husband Steven Victor and me Sandra Leigh). We're also
thinking of the name Aaron Steven or Aaron Victor. So many names, so
    little time!
