| I like Steven (v) Robert. Not sure why, but I like the looks of
that spelling better. It's "cleaner" somehow since he'll inevitably
end up being called Steve either way.
How about Lindsey Susan? Marie and Elizabeth work it that too,
I think. Lindsey Catherine, maybe?
Since you like Steven/Stephen and there are several girl's names
you like, you might want to stay away from Stephanie (even though
I like it a lot) if you have a girl in case you get a boy sometime
in the future (and want to use Steven then).

| To continue, I like the Steven better also. I've known some
people to pronounce Stephen as Stef-fin...... That's my reason.
What names does your husband like besides Marissa?

I too prefer Steven Robert for the boy.
I had a new idea for a girls name though, how about Angela Marie
Lindsey? It has a certain ring to it, don't you think?

Oops. I read "names to go with Lindsey" and thought she meant she
needed a middle name. Should have looked at the user name, silly...

Anna, He hasn't come up with any other names...he thinks Katherine
is ok though. I don't know why we are finding this so difficult!
We've been through 2 of the best baby name books and have been thinking
about this off and on even before we were married! Generally speaking
he doesn't care for girl's names that can be shortened to a boy's
name (jessica is jessie, joanna is jo) and thinks we have to be
careful with names that end in "ie" with lindsey.
Angela Marie would go well, but again we would have the problem
if they used her nickname, Angie Lindsey.
Thanks for the advice thus far...

I see what you mean about names ending in "ie". How about Elizabeth?
I always liked the nickname Beth (not Liz). Both the long and the
short names sound nice with Lindsey. Elizabeth Lindsey and Beth
Lindsey. What do you think?

| How about,
Rachel Lindsey
Carla Lindsey
Briana Lindsey
Colleen Lindsey
Erica Lindsey
Just a few, and don't worry. My husband and I hadn't picked my son's
name until a week after his due date.
Good Luck

Check out 353 -- all of these names are in the top 10.

The only differences between the two are that Stephen is older
and is more popular in the UK.
I also agree with Tracy about Stephen and Stephanie.

Yes, I am aware that the names are fairly popular...even in the 1988
list I have looked at, but I think for the most part they are classic
names that will not be linked to any one era (especially Katherine).
Regarding a few notes back, my husband likes the name Elizabeth...
I think too, we would call her Beth (we don't care as much for Liz).
Anna, I like the names that end with "ana". They seem to go well
with Lindsey. One of the ones I was considering was Joanna, but
that breaks with my husband's rule of shortening to a man's name
(Jo or JoJo)...
Thanks for the feedback...

| Okay, with 'ana' endings... I'm looking through my book now.
I won't include any with 'l's', i.e. Alana Lindsey doesn't sound
right.
Briana
Dana
Diana
Deanna
Edana (I don't like it)
Ivana (same as above)
Justina (sort of like 'ana' ending)
Lana
Oriana
Raina
Shaina
Zorana
Some of them are a bit unusual. What do you think of Hannah?

| Dear Sue,
u
like names that end in -ana how about Adrianna. My girlfriend named
her daughter that and the more I hear it the more I like it. Let
us know.....

I too like Elizabeth since it is my daughter's middle name. If you

Yes, we thought a little about Hannah...I never liked it as a child,
but it has been growing on me recently...Adrianna, not bad, I will
run it by my hubby. The one consideration with both those names is
they don't really have a nickname...they don't shorten easily. Not
sure if that's good or bad.
Thanks for the suggestions!

395.14 | Marianna? | AITG::MCGEEHAN | | Mon Jun 26 1989 16:17 | 6 |
| What do you think of the name Marianna? Haven't thought of a good
middle name to go with it, but...just thought I'd add the name to your
list of possibles...
Good Luck!

| I have a cousin Marianna. She in her early 20's. She doesn't have
a middle name, her first name seemed to be enough. I've always liked
it and she's the only one I've ever meet.

| Re .11:
Anna, when listing 'ana' names, you left out your own! I like
Anna Lindsey.
I also like Elizabeth (Beth) and Katherine (Kate). I agree you
should stay away from names with a "y" ending.
