| I think Alexander Fortin sounds real nice. (Alex Fortin) It seems
to sound a bit better than Jacob Fortin. Somehow the x ending flow
into Fortin smoother than the b ending in Jacob. Ya, say it a few
times and you'll hear what I mean.
Oh and definately, free babysitting is worth choosing Alexander
especially if you agree that it sounds nicer!
Good luck!
My sister-in-law, Ingrid, just had a little girl yesterday! 8lbs.
They named her -
Linnea Kirstin
(Pronounced: Lin A ah) Pretty huh?! My brother has always loved
the named Linnea and Kirstin is for Ingrid's Swedish Mother.
((just thought I throw in my news)).

383.2 | One Vote for Alexander | SHALOT::ANDERSON | Give me a U, give me a T... | Fri May 05 1989 11:34 | 18 |
| Male names with heavy Biblical overtones (Joshua, Eli, Jacob,
etc.) were very popular a couple of years ago, but seem to be
on their way out. I kind of like Jacob, though -- it was never
as popular as, say, Joshua. Personally, I never cared for the
Biblical names too much -- they always seemed a little heavy.
If you MUST have Isaiah as a middle name, you might want to shy
away from a Biblical first name -- such as Jacob. Isaiah is
extremely heavy and Biblical.
If you do decide to name your baby Jacob, consider also whether
you like the name Jake. No matter how hard you try, he'll wind
up being called this quite a bit.
I like Alexander just fine. I have a feeling, though, that
this is going to be a very popular name in the coming years.

| I agree whole heartedly with .2, Cliff, you took the words right out of
my mouth!
Jacob Isaih sounds sooo biblical - it sounds like the name of an Amish
farmer.
I, too, vote for Alexander. I've always liked that name.

383.4 | Another cast for Alexander | SKIWVA::FSCNO | | Tue May 23 1989 10:34 | 9 |
| Another vote for Alexander, Jacob and Isiah is just too much for
one little boy to carry. Alexander always makes me think of Alexander
the Great which may appeal to a little boy's imagination.
Also the offer of free babysitting is definitely a plus, provided
she is a reliable character. Also maybe you should get her to put
it in writing.....

Thanks for the replies so far. I think we might go for Alexander.
My husband doesn't know this yet, so Michelle, if you are reading
this, don't say anything. I personally would prefer Jacob Andrew
if we were to name him Jacob but the first boy has to have Isaiah
as a middle name.
It's funny how some of you think Jacob Isaiah is "too" biblical.
I like it because of that. In fact, that is why my husband wants
Isaiah as his middle name, because it is very biblical. As for
biblical girl's names, Ruth just doesn't do it and we already have
a cat named Naomi, Mary isn't very interesting and Delilah has too
much of a stereotype.
Please keep the opinions coming. I'd like to know what everyone
thinks. Thanks again.
