343.0. "Need girls name for "Drane"" by FSHQA1::CBOUCHARD () Fri Jan 27 1989 09:06

    My sister will be having a baby and is looking for a girls first
    name that will "spice up" the last name of "Drane" (If at all possible)
    She has picked a boys name of George Oliver Drane IV (that poor
    kid)  Any suggestions?

    I can see why she will have a hard time finding a girls name to
    "spice up" her last name! How about something feminine such as,
    Kerrie Ann, Ashley Nicole, or Olivia Marie. I would say away from
    names that begin with "D".

    I can't help with the girl's names, but just happened to notice
    the initials for the boy's name: GOD IV. It makes me think of the
    movie with George Burns.

343.3Olivia sounds nice for some reasonUSWAV1::BRADISHFri Jan 27 1989 15:293
    Gee, Olivia is not a name I would have chosen, but it really does
    "dress up" Drane for some reason.

    That's a good one!! The best my family and I could come up with
    was Ima or Jane. I feel so bad for her baby. It's not exactly
    a pretty last name.

	How about something like Dawn Denise or Dawn Danielle ...
	the she could be:

		Dawn D. Drane

	Couldn't resist,

		-- Cliff

	P.S. Something with a nice, soft feminine ending like
	      "-ella" or "-ina" might be nice. Overall, I would
	      emphasize "soft" consonants like "n," "l," etc.
	      Make sure the first name doesn't begin with a "d."
	      Also be sure to avoid a one-syllable name (e.g.,
	      Jane Drane).
343.7Soft and FeminineSKIWVA::FSCNOFri Mar 17 1989 09:503
    I kind of like the sound of Arianna, its feminine and soft which
    I think with a last name of Drane anything would help. Also I liked
    the name of Olivia. Let us know...
343.8A LITTLE LATE FOR A FOLLOW UP...BUT...FSOA::CBOUCHARDIs it Friday yet?Wed Jun 19 1991 13:427
    It's a little late to fill you in on what my sister finally decided
    on, but better late than never.

    I am the proud godmother of "Brittany Orianna Drane." Brittany is
    now one year old and quite a handful.
