My name is Beverly (middle name Tina, of which I am not fond). It's
English in origin, meaning Beaver Meadow; originally it was Beverley,
a man's name.
I like having a name that's common enough that it doesn't freak people
out, but unusual enough that I was usually the only one in my class.
I've always felt sorry for people with names like David, John (my
husband's name), Mary, and Cathy - there's always someone else with
the same name within hearing distance.
