238.0. "Boy's name to go with Moore" by AUNTB::MOORE () Wed Jun 08 1988 15:44

    I need a boys name to go with the last name Moore and the middle
    name Allen (my father-in-law's name, so it's gotta be). Thinking
    about Crosby, Frazer and Todd.

238.2Some "Moore" thoughts...EDUHCI::WARRENThu Jun 09 1988 11:1912
    I think I'd lean toward the 2+ syllable names; Todd Moore sounds
    very "choppy." Also be aware of the initials. For example, you
    may want to stay clear of names that start D. And try out possible
    nicknames too.  The last note, for example, suggested Andrew Moore;
    Andy Moore also sounds fine. But a Cameron Moore might end up being
    called "Cam" and Cam Moore is difficult to say.

    I like Frazer. At least he wouldn't have the same name as half
    his first-grade class.

238.3Brain???VOLGA::E_FINKELSENThu Jun 09 1988 13:016
.1 - Were you serious about Brain? Or did you mean to type Brian?

I don't care for Frazer, but I've been watching Cheers for years now and all I
can think of is a whimpy brainy type....

238.4Not yet, but we'll keep trying!AUNTB::MOOREThu Jun 09 1988 23:239
    Another name we are thinking of is Trent. However, as Tracy Warren
    pointed out one syllable names do sound sort of choppy. So far
    no one has responded positively (or negatively) to Crosby.

    Thanks to Stockroom, we do like a couple of your suggestions, Trevor
    and Zachary (changed spelling slightly).

    Keep 'em coming!

    You don't really know of someone named Fergus, do you??

    Didn't do to well on this batch. Keep in mind that we are kind
    of conservative. Would like something sort of distinguished yet
    "old fashioned". At least that is the way my wife describes it.

    Thanks again!!
    Johnny ( most of the time I sign - JAM - my initials)

    How about Curtis Allen Moore. Sounds distinquished, I think.
238.10That's a keeperAUNTB::MOOREWed Jun 22 1988 09:127
    Thanks for the recommendation of Curtis. Sounds pretty good so
    we are adding it to our possible list. Leaning towards John Allen
    Moore with Trent Allen Moore a close second. Although there are
    several other strong contenders.

    Thanks,
