    After an exhaustive search all over creation, I have not been able
    to find out if my given name is used more often in any particular part
    of the U.S. Any one have any comments?

    Aubrey is my given name. Bo is my nickname. Both came from my
    grandfather.

    other  facts:
    I'm male, Southern and my wife and I are expecting our first child
    in a couple of months.

    What are your ideas on using Aubrey as a name for either a boy or
    a girl?

    All comments are appreciated;

    Bo

| 144.1 | YOU HAVE A GREAT NAME! | AITG::HEALY | Thu Oct 22 1987 19:34 | 13 | |
| Aubrey is a wonderful name! It has always been
    my favorite. I would however, tend to use it for
    a girl. Also, I imagine people would constantly
    try to substitute Audrey??? That is what keeps me from
    putting Aubrey on my list of possibles. Audrey is a
    nice name too, but if what I want is Aubrey, and folks
    will insist on using Audrey, why not just use Audrey!

    Since Audrey seems to be a more definitely feminine name,
    I suppose you never had the problem of being called
    Audrey instead of Aubrey....

| I live in Colorado Springs, I know of 2 Aubrey's, a Jr and Sr.
    Needless to say they both are male. Aubrey Sr. was in the military
    and retired here. I don't know where he came from as I never asked.

| That is my most favorite name for a girl absoulutely beautiful
    -not bad for a guy either. I have always loved the name and never
    new anyone with it. There is a song called "and Aubrey was her
    name."

    Take care!\

| Under the boy's section in my babynames book, it
    	says Aubrey means "ruler of the elves" and is
    	Teutonic. It also lists a nickname as Bree.

    	I don't know anyone by this name and hadn't heard
    	of it until this note.
