Jerome is Latin for sacred or Holy name,
Milo is Latin for miller.

| The babyname book I have also says Jerome means masculine.

132.4 | In France It's masculine... | FNYFS::VALLEPIN | Stay with us after the break... | Tue Oct 27 1987 01:51 | 4 |
| In France, where I live, as a matter of fact, JEROME means masculine.
And it doesn't exist a feminine gender.
Daniel (not Dan or Dany...)

| I'm afraid the only Jerome I've ever heard of is the name of the
giraffe on the 'Friendly Giant' t.v. show I watched as a kid.
Jerome is a very nice giraffe. If your son had a chance to watch
this show perhaps he would focus on Jerome over 'Jerry' and 'J.J.',
eliminating some of his confusion.
If he's really being confused, I'd be inclined to inform those
concerned that "His name is Jerome, not Jerry or J.J. Please stop
confusing him.".
