116.0. "Boy's Name Needed" by BOOKLT::HALVORSON (Jane Halvorson) Tue Aug 11 1987 08:08

My sister and her husband are expecting a child next March.
They have a girl's name, but need one for a boy. The problem
here is the surname Durfor. I think a monosyllabic first name
ending with a hard (dental?) consonant would be best, but the
following names have been eliminated due to close friends/relatives
using the same name: Chuck, Scott, Mark, Ted, Craig. Their other
child is Andrew Charles, and they're leaning toward Bruce (no middle
name yet) or Alexander (what a mouthful!)...

    How about ;
    Kevin
    Bryan
    Michael
    Brent
    Benjamin

    I'm partial to "b" names they seem to go well with a last name
    the begins in "d".

    Good Luck

    Just a note on my previous suggestion of Benjamin, it might not
    be a great name since the nickname would be Ben, I think
    Ben Durfor would let him in for a lot of jokes. Sorry!

	"Think of the luggage!" as my aunt exclaimed once when
Anne Scotland Spinks was suggested. (She was referring to the
monogram.) :-) (Though some monograms do put the surname initial
in the center...)
	Seriously, I rather like Miles.

    	What about Eric (Erik) or Alden? We chose Alex to go with Rooney,
    	but I won't know for another 8 weeks (due date) if we'll be
    	able to use that or the go with the girls name we picked out.

    How about Doug or Douglas. I think it goes great with the last
    name starting with "D".

 I kinda like the name "Storm".

What do you think?

Storm is a good name, but makes me think of the hero in
a Gothic Romance. :-)

My sister's a bit conventional: her current choice
is James Stephen.
