95.0. "Jentri" by 26677::JOLLIMORE () Fri Apr 24 1987 14:19

My wife and I decided on the name Jentri for our daughter.
We liked Jennifer, but my wife's name is Penny, and the Jen-Pen or
Jenny-Penny, we thought, would get confusing.
We had a friend named Theresa, who was called Tree for short and we
liked that but figured Terry would be her "given" nick-name and didn't
care for that.
We combined the two, ala Jennifer Theresa, but it sound like a nun's
name, which isn't bad, but wasn't to our liking.

We literally came up with the name Jentri while my wife still was in
the delivery room just after giving birth. The nurse wanted to write the
name on the little card they put on the cribs so we were asked how to
spell it. Got me!? J_E_N_T_R_I sounded OK. Then she asked, "What about a
middle name?". It wasn't 'til a day later that we decided on Lynn as a
middle name. Spelling Jentri was about all we could handle at the moment.

Til the day my grand-mothers died, neither could remember her name.

Jay (my choice of knick-name for James)

that's a pretty name, but won't she still get the nickname "Jen"
or are you going to enforce "tree", or none at all...
People always want to give me a nickname like Lori or Lora....but
my parents always corrected them with "Loreen" and I'm glad they
did...after she's older, people will address her with the name
she introduces herself with, but that will depend on what her
    parents call her now....
