71.0. "Bonnie-Jean" by 3251::LIENERT () Fri Jan 09 1987 11:42

My first name is Bonnie-Jean. Up until
college I only went by Bonnie, I thought that
Bonnie-Jean was too formal. I now like it but
still usually tell people to call me Bonnie but most
of my friends and relatives call me by my full
name. Bonnie is Scottish for pretty. I don't
        know what Jean means.

The most common nickname is Bon (for Bonnie).
I like Bons the best becuz it was given to me by someone
special. My stepfather calls me Bon-Bon (said
with a French accent) which only sounds right
coming from him, I don't think that anyone else
could get away with it. Since I have been using
my full name, a lot of people call me BJ, which I
        like also.

My mother was in New Orleans while she was
pregnant with me. I was named after a friend she
met down there. Most people expect me to talk
with a southern accent becuz my name has a
        southern ring to it.

My last name, Lienert, is Swiss(my paternal
grandfather came over when he was 12) and most
people cannot pronounce it. It uses the German
pronouncination of 'ie' (Lean-ert) and not the American
version as in 'lie'. But I was brought up to say
it like Lie-nert and only recently was made aware
that I was saying it wrong. I do not know what
        it means.

I don't know many people with the name Bonnie
and I have only met on other Bonnie Jean but she
        did not hypenate her name.

According to my baby name book ("Name Your Baby" by Lareina Rule),
Jean is the French version of Jane and means "God is gracious."

My name is Bonnie, I don't have a middle name. I'm the tenth child
out of eleven. My Mother claims to have run out of names by that
    time.

I am also called, by friends The Bon. They also call me Bonnie Bunns
because I'm known to wear my long hair up in a bun.

I haven't met to many people named Bonnie. If I have a little girl
I think I'll name her after me.

Actually, 'Jean' is an American West (Indian?) term for cosmic,
cosmos, or cosmology - at least indirectly.

Specifically, jean came to be a code for the important number 501.
This number being magic, it could NEVER be spoken only contemplated.

501 is magic, and thus the relationship to cosmic, etc, because
5 + 1 is 6 and there is 1 null number (circle) between, to add up
to 7! 7 is one of the most magic of numbers (other than 0 which,
of course, this representation (ie 501) even contains.)

If you don't believe that 501 is magic, or jean is its code just
consider the tertiary code for it, (actually a degenerated form)
levi, and various short (30 sec) video segments with all three of
these codes and numbers shown on American TV's, primarily from the
    West coast. ;^)

My name is Bonne too, Bonne Natalie -- I was born with it Bonnie
but I decided when I was small that I wanted to drop the "i" and now
it's Bonne -- it always has been (that's really me!)
71.6Bonnie Baby! (thats my favorite nickname!)MCIS2::HUSSIANTue Aug 28 1990 13:0021
    Hello, Another fello Bonnie here!

I love my name, & I know lots of Bonnies! My middle name is Lou, which
sounds VERY southern, only it's short for my grandmother on my fathers
sides name, Louise.--->I'd love to get people to call me Bonnie Lou,
but I've ALWAYS been called *just* Bonnie, & I feel that people
wouldn't bother w/ the middle name if I changed it now.

I get asked quite frequently if my name is Bonita, & sometimes I'm
even *told* to use my full name & not a nick name, which drives me
nuts! MY REAL NAME *IS* BONNIE! I tell them.

Anyhow, I think I'd name a daughter after myself as well, Bonnie!
I'm glad to know that you like your name, I love mine, & knowing that
there are so many people who don't is a bummer. My parents took the
time to come up w/ a name that they felt suited me, Which I take as
a wonderful compliment. I'll Always appreciate that the name they gave
    me means Pretty One!

    Happy babynaming!
Bon (Bonzo, bonzai, bonj, Bons, Bon-Bon, Bona-lou,)
