-< My poor Mother >-
My Mother's full maiden name was Avis Rita Hubbard.
She blessed my sister with the name Jayne Hubbard Power.
(Thank God I was the baby). Believe it or not there
was an Avis Hubbard who lived in the next town over
from us. I guess back then (she'd kill me) the name
was not that uncommon. It's probably not romantic
enough to use in a novel, but it is different.

I remember an "Avis" from my past. I can't remember where, though.
I am in my early thirties and I think she was someone I worked here
with when I was about 18 or 20. Her motto was that she was #1 and
didn't have to try at all. That's why I remembered her. Oh well.

My Grandmother's name is Avis and because of her it has very special
feelings. However, I can't quite see a baby of today with that
name; maybe as a middle name.
