When our second child was born we had already decided that
we would call him after my father, his name is Desmond.
When he was born I wanted him to have 2 names like our daughter
but here in France (or Spain) unlike Ireland you don't have to have
a second name. I wanted to call him Desmond Joseph like my father.
So I called him that, my wife agreed with Desmond but didn't
want to give him the second name. Well it was 11th December 1985.
We registered him with the Irish and Spanish embassies in France,
and this time no problem. He has Irish, French, and Spanish
nationality.
The name Desmond is a very old Irish name and if anybody is interested
I will let them know its origin but it would take me too long here.
